Look what was at my door today when i got home

Here's a closeup of the sills compared to the '03 trim. Hard to show in the pics, but the sills are a tad bit shinier. No prob at all though, since the sills are so far away from any of the interior trim.

I then began putting them on. Wiping the surface of the garnish with some denatured alcohol, and then applied the 3M primer that the sills come with. But then I screwed up and put passenger sill on backwards The tape is so strong that I couldn't get it back off. Austin, can you send me another one for free, please?

Sike! They look awesome, no regrets. Thanks Austin for all the headaches you've had to endure!!

More pics to come, when it's not friggin raining out. I've been driving the MR2 all week, since I just Meguiar'd the CL on Saturday....

Can someone take some close up pics of the edges? In that last pics it looks like the 3M tape is sticking out of the sides. I hope that I am just seeing things.

Nope, it's just the flash reflection from the ends. BTW, the 3M tape is black.

Do the prices go up on the 1st gens too? I assume since we haven't seen any, we would get extra time and wouldn't automaticly be raised to the same price as the 2nd gen.

CT3.2:
No need to preorder...we'll take orders once they're ready to ship

Acura3.0CLP:
No...first gens will get a different deadline...this deadline is for sills only, for second gens. We still have first and second gen trim to do, AND first gen sills.

EricS:
GREAT pics

Hey Austin519,

Jeff said that the trim kits are shipping out this Wednesday the latest (July 24th)...is this still happening? He said this on the 11th or 12th over the phone. Waiting for the door sills since this is one shipment, even though it was said to be two. Either way, if you could check to see when the trim kit is going out, I'd appreciate it. In addition, I had asked him to color the 'S' in the sills with red and he said okay. I hope he remembers... since it is not a problem with silk screening.

Out of curiosity, if we were to take a piece of the trim kit off a couple of years down the road, how hard is it to rid of the double-sided tape adhesive? Will it come completely off? Just wondering so that I would know before I ever did it to seel the car or what not. I personally think it might sell better with the kit on...but just curious.

Matt

WiLd~CL~TYPS-@SS:
Yeah he is. He did ship out a huge shipment Thursday and people should be getting their stuff today and tomorrow. Not sure if you were in it or not. Did you email me all your info yet so I can get him to contact you? GoHawks63 just got his today, and quite a few others.

EEPOWER:
We are shooting for Wednesday yes. I will keep this thread updated. I think it would sell better with the kit on as well...but it's very easy to take off. The cleanest way to do it is get a little bottle of goo gone and wet the adhesive from the side (under the trim) and let it soak in, then it just pulls/falls right off. Alternately you can just rip it off (which would totally destroy the piece) and then use goo gone or similar to remove any residue.

As for the red S in the sills...are you the guy that kept asking him about that? Because he told me he had said no. He's not doing weird special orders like that until the trim/sills for all models are totally done with. Email me your info and I will ask, but to my knowledge anything like that will be delayed for quite a while and will cost a good bit more.

Sounds good Matt =). I actually have an update I need to tell everyone...the thinner, silk screened sills look absolutely great so...we'll see. He's out of town today (Saturday) but you can call him by phone, 678 468 9041 and place a credit card order. The Type S logo in red cannot be engraved...it can be silk screened.
The engraving is just, an engraving...and can't be colored...but the silk screening can. As for the chrome/outline lettering...that's an option that I'm not sure will be available...I believe we'll just be going with straight silk screening or engraving (which we decided on yesterday when I was in Atlanta with him). The prices you quoted are correct Matt. I think he'll be able to get back to you tomorrow. Or you can call him today. Take care, and thanks for the CC.

Austin519

Wow, when I first emailed you, you said it could be done, as it was discussed way back when in this thread. When I did call Jeff to place my order, that was my order, and he said IT COULD BE DONE. NO ONE SAID IT WAS A WEIRD SPECIAL ORDER UNTIL NOW !! Hey, I just want my %&*$ sent out when completed. I realize some things can not be done that were going to be done, but this was never one of those items. And since I placed my order two months ago, there was plenty of time to have two sills with the 'S' colored in red. Too bad we do not receive an order confirmation, then this would have been cleared up two months ago. It's funny, but are there two Jeff's working at AP-Signworks??? In addition, I only asked ONCE since he said no problem...I haven't been bugging him about this at all since I thought it was happening and not a problem and completed for that matter. Dude, WTF! Just a little mad that this is the second time Jeff says one thing, then way later says just the opposite. Now, you are too. Unless somewhere I missed the post about this not being done, but then perhaps Jeff should return my email pertaining to this subject, as he has not, but you did.

EEPOWER:
It can be done...yes. I said it could in that email. But we weren't going to do it until we were done with everyone else's. And I didn't mention anything about price in that email because I didn't know. The manufacturer says multiple colors will cost more. However, if he screwed up, and took your money, and you specified a red Type S in your order, I will make sure you get a red Type S...<sigh>. Relax EEPOWER...no need to yell at me or him in this thread. I understand you're upset...and if this was his fault...I'll make sure you get exactly what you want. I didn't know one way or the other back then...but we have finalized that now. Again, if you were told something different by him, I will find out and I will fix this to your benefit.
