... i bought a boost & fuel pressure gauge so I could monitor what was going on under the hood instead of guessing and blowing up my motor.

and now I got a A/F gauge to add to the collection so I will know exactly what is going on..

How can you blow up the motor if the CT charger is so conservative on the boost. Is there an inherited weak link in the actual S/C kit that will make the car starv from fuel that makes us have to monitor the FP. My bottom line question would be, Is the need for the guages due to the fact that some of the members have altered the original CT S/C kit parameters to get more HP leading to fuel pressure problems or does the kit has problems out the box itself.

Boost guage because I wanted to know how much boost I was adding with my custom HBP. Fuel pressure guage was because I had a check engine light problem.

The gauges help remove all that "2nd guessing" on what might be wrong when/if something does happen.

If your belt is slipping and your making lower then normal boost you'll be able to accurately tell right away. And if your FPR is going south, again, you'll know right away.

We added A/F and boost just to keep an eye on things(as if the road ahead wasn't enough)

As for the gauges, mine are right on the steering column. The fuel pressure is going to be located just above the dash on the pillar behind the mirror...so that should still keep it low profile. Of course the big red brakes and SSRs wont help in the sleeper category.

It's ok, lots of people out there have Vacuum, water tempurature,
, A/F, Fuel pressure guage, techs, V-AFC and etc. Yet they have no more than a CAI in their car.

Gauges were bought because they are a MUST with the Comptech S/C setup. Doesn't matter how "conservative" the stock pulley is. If your fuel pump or FPR gets fouled up you are dead in the water.

I dunno which answer to pick.

Since this applies to other FI people (well, the two - soon to be three) of us on here... I'd say the only reason I have the FP, Boost and a WB is for tuning and a safety precaution. I always look at my guages and if something doesn't look right, I am informed about it.
