there is no picture at the end of that link... using an aftermarket ballast is ok, but from what you are saying it sounds like both sides are flickering? that sounds like a deeper rooted issue. I just picked up a new pass side ballast off ebay for 200 bucks... turns out the one i bought is just as bad as the one i replaced. it ignites the bulb 50% of the time but does keep the bulb lit once it's on... luckily the seller has 2 more at his warehouse and is going to switch it out 4 me

im sorry its only the passneger side thats flickering, its where i put the aftermarket ballast, the driver side is still oem.

the side that flickering is the pass side. and the guy who installed did some rewiring, he unplugged the hibeam and somehow installed the aftermakret ballast there, so it turns on only when i have to switch the hibeams on. this is bcoz we didnt kno how to take out the headlights, so this is a for now thing to do.

Sounds like the guy who installed it fucked up.

Or maybe the car just doesn't like the aftermarket ballast.

Check the fuses in the fuse panel under the hood. Mine had a blown fuse and my light flickered after I replaced my ballast too. Once I replaced the blown fuse, all was good.

from what i see its either a defected ballast, he rewired it all wrong, or you need a relay kit. If it keeps happening you're going to blow the headlights. The only way to remove the headlight is to get rid of the safety bolt thats on there and you have to remove the headlight in order to reach that bolt. Which means bumper has to come off, to get to the headlight.

Why not use OEM for something as important as the headlights?

If you are talking about the security torx screw that holds the rear cap on, then you are wrong.

As for the ballast, I got one from a BMW, took the cap, cut a large hole in the one side of it, fed the wire through it and put it back on with the wire going through the cap. Never any condensation or any problems...
