After Tire Rotation... alignment seems off

I just got my 7500 mile check-up. I had everything done - oil, tires rotated, fluids, etc. Anyway, I noticed that my car tends to drift toward the left slightly. I heard that this will remedy itself after 100 miles are so because the tires haven't settled in the "groove". Is this accurate?

Sounds typical just after a rotation. Personally, I hate having the tires rotated because the ride suffers for a while, but it must be done if you want a lot of miles out of the tires.

I agree Mike. Rotation is the one dreaded service thing for me too mainly because I know that I might need allignement after the rotation happens. I hope that it does go away after 100 miles because half of the times it does not and you end up needing a $60 allignement. The Firestone around here does lifetime allignement for $105 but I wonder if I should trust them. I had my Talon taken there a lot for allighnement and they were pretty good but am not sure about this car.

I think firestone is no longer doing that.

Thanks for all your input... I should find out whether or not the problem is corrected by the end of the week. I'll let you all know.

This guy owns like 10 Firestone's and it is like a thing he does for his stores only. I dont know, I have not cheked for the last 3-4 months. Maybe you are right.

I requested that my tires be rotated at my 15k service, they also charged me 79.95 for a balance, which I didn't ask for ! Was it really needed ?

HMMM just for kicks make sure your tires have equal tire pressures left to right. This can cause a pull as well if it is not even.Shouldn't tire rotation be included in the 15 k service? We rotate tires every 7500k miles at the dealer where I work.Jens

I normally don't rotate my tires, the rears will last 2.3 times the fronts. However if you want to replace all your tires at once, then rotate them
