Advice Needed: Best New Car Under $20,000
I need to find a car for my mom =)
Her current car is a 98 Altima. Looking for reliability and built-quality. I know nothing about this price class.
Any Suggestions?

However, speed and modification aren't a factor. Thanks tho.

Get a 1995 Acura Legend. Even though it is old, it will outlast any under 20k car out there. Find one with around 60k miles are you are good to go for quite a while. Plus you don't feel like you are driving around in a cheap car.
I sold my 91 a month ago and I prefered driving it to ANY 20 thousand dollar car I have ever driven.

Like fabv said... Honda/Toyota/Nissan. Don't waste your money on anything else.

i agree with the Honda and Nissan...i'm a BIG anti-Toyota fan...never liked the car/truck design, interiors, etc etc...i think u can do better for the $...not a big fan of the Civic...Accord definitely, Sentra, and Altima (Sentra more than Altima, but GREAT deals on the Altima)...and about the new vs. used issue...it's like playing roulette with the used cars...u have no idea how the car was driven, where the car was driven, who drove, etc. etc...a '95 Acura Legend sounds like a good used car, but don't u think a 6 year progression in R&D amounts to anything?? it's like Mastercard commercials...new car smell...priceless
anyway, just my viewpoint, altho im not totally against used cars, just playin a little Devil's Advocate

Wouldn't get the accord cause it'll be the "old model" by this time next year. Maybe Solara or new Altima? (not sure of the price on that...) Or that base model Volvo...the S40 - it's just above 20, right?
