advantages of synthetic oil?

what are the advantages of synthetic oil?
how many miles can you drive in between oil change if you use lets say Mobile One?
How much will the dealer charge me for a oil and filter change if I bring in my own oil?
Thanks

the syn oil are good becuase they will stablize the engine temperature..and reduce the cabon deposite...reduce the friction..and u should have the oil change every 3000 miles..and if u bring your own oils and oil filter..the acura dealer or any oil lube..will charge u somewhere from $20~$25.. i have been using the full syn mobil 1 for 6 years..and it is good to have them...u spend a bit more on the oil.. the engine will last longer...

Synthetic oil is better than regular oil by many factors. Do a search on 'synthetic'

I think that you can change the oil a little less frequently than every 3000 miles. I usually do an oil change every 5000 miles and I use Mobil 1. I suppose it is a matter of preference based on how hard you drive your car.

O yeah, I am sure that on new cars you can change synthetic oil every 20K miles and the car will work fine at least till it hits 50K miles.
If you plan to sell car when it hits 50K miles, its a good idea to change oil every 20K miles

The actaul recommendation I saw said to change the filter every 7,500 (non severe driving conditions) and synthetic oil every 15,000. YMMV
