Actuator fixed! HUGE DIFFERENCE!

For the ones that aren't sure if your actuator is working or not, go find out! I just got mine fixed and there is a big difference in power!

I love this forum!

Glad to hear you got it taken care of.

You just turned that CLP you were driving around in back to a Type S.

How we YOU able to tell that it wasn't working? I know all about it, but I'm only to check by myself. If I turn it and I here it click, it means it's working right?

can you see the actuator on the '03 CLS 6 speeds? car's going in for my 30,000 mile service and wanted them to check it, but tried to look at it this morning and didn't see it. isn't it located on the driver's side, between the stock stb and the windshield?

it's basically right in the middle on the back. It should stick out like a sore thumb, it's almost the only thing there.

Here is a link to detailed info about the actuator.

http://www.geocities.com/~gamesmgr/chod/acura/#Driving6

Also, at 4100 RPM, the ECU signals a 12V actuator to open the secondary intake valve. So it happens when you rev the car up.

I don't know how to do it without one person in the car revving the engine to 4100rpms and one person watching the actuator flip open and closed ... but there should be a way for you to pull the throttle body open/closed from the engine bay. I remember someone here saying they knew how to do it, but I never figured out what you need to do. That would allow you to rev up the engine while standing by the actuator and watch it open/close.

Maybe someone in the know can shed some light on the subject?

When trying to click on the link and view pics of the actuator, the link times out and basically doesnt work. Any other links of pics of the actuator?

It's easily done. You can operate the throttle body manually from under the hood. It has cables running to it. Just rotate it and the engine RPM will increase.

I told you at the last meet. Remove the engine cover and turn the brass colored assembly connected to the throttle body. That will rev the engine
