Q? Will a slightly modded 2.2 beat a 97 gs

 

this guy im prob. going to race today thanks he is a baller. He got some big chrome wheels and alot of audio stuff. Performance wise He has some apc short CAI, and thats it. Its also a auto and he thinks he can totally kill me.

 

gs 300 or 400? i think either one will smoke you in a long race. not sure about off the line thogh. those are rwd right?

 

rwd yes, smoke you???....if it's a gs400...yes...and it won't be pretty unless those rims just kill him...a gs400 is a v8. the gs300...couldn't tell you

 

ive raced a gs 300, and im a 3.0CL.. came out pretty even..
all i have for performance (that matters) is an intake..

the gs400 will kill u =)

ive raced a LS430 as well.. i got killed like no other..

gs 400 will rip u apart onthe freeway too.. all v8's normally do..

ive raced a corvette, bmw 540 (v8), and porsches (non v8).. they all kill me.. i love to see these cars perform.. and i dont mind getting beat by them..

but i cant stand getting beat by a turbo integ =p

my friend had a 2.3 from this forum.. nicely modded.. and i could beat him.. by like a car length.. he had i/h/e and venom400
so unless u have NOS, or a turbo/ SC.. i doubt u can beat a gs400
or maybe ur an EXCELLENT driver.. then .. i give u the benefit of the doubt
other than that.. the gs400 is a superior car (1998 gs400, 0-60 in 6.2 seconds, 1/4mile 14.8, from car-stats.com)

and u say 97 gs, but there was no gs made in 97, so we'll go with a 98 gs300 which has a 0-60 of 7.7, which i think is a tad better than a 2.2, which feels like forever to 60. should be close, i would just make it a short run.

 

my dad drives one and it is faster then my 2.2 cl w/mods. mush better low end hill have you by 1 or two cars

 

i think he said its the gs400.. v8.. 0-60 in 5.9 (advertised on tv, from what i remember).. but tested at 6.2, from car-stat.com, car-stats.com usually gets their numbers from motortrend or car and driver, type magazines. ..

gs400 is not to be dealt with lightly

i wouldnt even have gone this far if he said gs400, y would u even bother to get smoked? thats no contest. btw, theres alot of gs400's for sale by me, love that car, thats such a step up from a 2.2, like i have also. ahhhh....speed.....

if its the 400 v8 they got 300hp. my friend has one and he raced a nother friend of mines camaro ss and it was dead even. i raced the ss and got my ass handed to me. like i was standing still.................litteraly.

 

i raced a camaro as well.. and same result.. no suprise.. it was just fun to watch it happen..

BUT, the ass hole stuck his finger out the moon roof and "no u didnt" waving side to side..

such a NICE guy.. wish i had a bike, so i could beat his car to sh!t hehe

 

Yeah I think the 97 2.2 cl has a 0-60 time of like 8.9 or something like that as opposed to his 7.7 but you never know, depends on the driver in the end I guess
