6 Speeds with XS Power headers???
Are these a good investment for 6 speeds? What are some of you with these and like an intake running right now? I am looking to get one real quick so i can try to have my car running at least 13.9 wit ice box, crank pulley and the header by next month. I know comptech is better, but i wanna see what these can do first.

With tires and a decent driver you should be able to run that already.

just do a search on xs in this forum and you'll get a thousand threads with good info...from what i've heard...the gains are the same as the comptech but some people claim problems with the way they are manufactured compared to the comptech...but you get what you pay for...i'm going to get a pair myself just waiting for money to be right...

one problem with the xs headers is the hardware the other is the gasket and the other which hasnt been proven yet is a leaky flex pipe. Even with these problems I would still go with the XS over comptech.
to fix problems
1. buy new harware (at most $20)
2. gaskets ( at most $25)
3. new flex pipe and welded (at most $50)
SO you buy the xs ($135 shipped) and spend extra $100. For $235 you have a set that is just as good as comptech.
If you couldnt tell this is what I am doing.

gaskets arent needed. reuse the stock manifold gaskets and the O ring gaskets that come with the kit
not all flexpipes have issues.
I have over 30k on mine now trouble free

wow 14.4, problem may be more than the worn clutch.

I'll be going later on this summer after everything is fixed...

Actually, an investment indicates that you will likely make money on the deal. Buying $1000 headers does not increase the value of your car by $1500. No matter what you put on your car it is an expense, period. Unless you have a collectable car that increases in value every year (none of ours do) then any money you pour into your car you should consider it shot out of the tailpipe. Look at all the people on this forum that have pumped $10K into their car, then they try to sell it and can barely get book value on it. If you can cut your expenses by 1/10th by buying the XS headers over the Comptech then that is managing your expenses wisely.

I have had XS for a few months now. They have been great for power and gase mileage, but I have to investigate the leaking air sound. I may just get some hi temp silcon and apply to the flex pipe and see if that help. If it does I may look at just replacing the flex pipe, but overall been really happy with my $145 purchase. The gas mileage has almost paid for these headers.

14.4 with all those mods? There is a guy out here near us that was running 14.2 with just AEM intake consistant like2 years ago. I have the video if anyone wants to host it. Then there is another guy here near us that I know that was running like 14.1 with just removing his resonator, he posted it last year.

The difference between 14.4 and 14.2 is nothing.
And he said he had a bad clutch. That will kill your times.
I had a slipping clutch and tires on my supercharged 6-speed and I only ran 14.1 I think but with a trap speed of over 108mph.

If you go to the other thread (***XS Power Header Owner***)we are starting to diagnose the problem. I think a new multi-layer flexpipe can be welded in for around 30-40 bucks.
