The 3M tape doesnt seem to want to stick for anything.

Any reccomendations on what to use?
I was thinking of some kind of adhesive stuff that you can get at Home Depot.

If you clean the surface of the original sills with alcohol prior to installing the 3m taped sills, they will stick just fine.

 

i did that, but still it seems to just come right off. Any other ideas?

 

mine will not stick either. I cleaned with alcohol, and they still come off.......

Hmm...I assume both of you use some sort of silicon conditioner/cleaner? I really don't think you understand how well you have to clean that stuff off...it doesn't readily come off. Try using a little acetone (nail polish remover) to clean the door sill with. That should rip the silicon right off. If that doesn't work...you can email/call Jeff (sales@ap-signworks.com, 678 468 9041) and let him know they aren't sticking...he'll send you a primer to put on which will neutralize the silicon. I just really wouldn't deal with the primer if I didn't have to...it's a real pain in the ass and is why we didn't include it in the orders. But, if they really won't stick, even after you clean with the acetone...it probably means you tried to stick them on when there was silicon on the door sills, and that in turn destroyed the tape. That primer will fix that...but PLEASE clean a LOT.
