2004 murano obliterated
Hey guys! This is not too much but it still makes me proud.
About a week ago i was going down Ocean Parkway in Brooklyn. I was in 4th going around
47-50 as i see a murano speeding in the back. The guy almost pulls up, i threw it in 2 and from that point on he never even made it closer than 2 cars back.
I have a 99 2.3 stock; all stock exept a CAI and Exhaust..
On top of that, over the past two weeks i beat a 95 - 97 lexus se 300; a 97 - 2000 maxima; 96 infinity i30, some new Kia suv, 99 isuzu rodeo 4wd...
I lost to a 2004 g35 obviously. But i was proud to see my cl keep even up until about 5000 -5500 in 2. And i stayed pretty close altogether.
i just got into this so dont be too hrash!

i didnt really pick them.
My exhaust is very sexy and every so often someone comes up...
But i was still surprised to see my v4 perform so well.
The rodeo is my friends so i know that car. It is as mint as it gets and the car pulls trust me.
Is there anybody from around Brooklyn?

Hey guys....just wanted to put my 2cents in here....see, i now own a 2004 Murano SE AWD and i can assure you that on the highway, from most any roll for that matter, the Murano will beat you.
I used to have an 01 CL-S, and i really think that the Murano could hang with it on the highway.
Off the line...that is a different story...the CVT transmission in the Murano actually zaps some of the power from the 3.5VQ engine in the MO, causing the Murano to actually feel a little sluggish off the line. In my particular model..i have a 6-speed sport shift mode which helps a bit off the line. I think the performance numbers for the Murnano 0-60 are somewhere between 7.5-8.0. So Im realy not racing too many cars off the line around town, but on the highway, i dont shy away from most vehicles...and no offense, but i wouldnt shy away from a 2.3CL.

and yes we all know what the VQ can do, but in the murano its not very quick until your at cruising speed. Love the murano, had one for a month as a rental while traveling but its not super quick off the line. lots of weight + AWD.

As far as the results of Semite's "race", all I can say is: 'VTEC KICKED IN YO!!'

but on a highway at speed....you might be surprised to see it stay with a 3.0. I did some shit in that car I never thought an SUV was capable of. Now im not saying it would beat...but I betting it would hang with it pretty well.

I never said that the Murano would beat a CL-S on the highway....but i will tell you CL-S owners, have some fun with one if you ever get a chance, you may be surprised what a Murano and a willing Murano driver can do.
As for you people with modded CL-S...then obviously this does not apply to you.
Stock 2.3CL and 3.0CL on the other hand..you will be owned by a bigger, heavier vehicle , and you will lie about it later and say you beat it. just look at the stats....3.0CL stock run almost identical 0-60 and 1/4mile times...www.car-stats.com...and on the highway...the torque on the MO will own the PRE 2001 CL.

but you cant look at 1/4 mile times for these cars. also as stated..off the line they are pigs. But once you get them to cruising speed....downshift and punch it....these things with give you a nice surprise on the highway.
I think on a highway a FX45 could play keep up with CL-S. not sure, but i wouldnt be surprised..

I never though he was bashing the CL in general, just that i didn't agree with his Murano comparo.
