1/4 Mile... First time ever... And Pic / Video

So it was my first time so I was real nervous. I got a 15.485. Ill post the slip when I can get around a scanner. Is that good?

Here is just a few randon pics.

Heres a STi that had 400whp with rebuilt race motor he said. And there was so much power it twisted the drive shaft in half....

Here is a really short clip of me and WRX (non-STi) but he said he upgraded the turbo. So slightly modded. This is the run I got 15.485 but my camera died she said. Or she just doesnt know how to work the camera. We will never know.

Me 15.485 < Him 14.448

15.4 is pretty high. If you get a good launch you can get close to that wrx's 14.4 time

Its called mile high, because were a mile high above sea level. And from what ive been told the car just runs 10 fold at sea level. Im not exactly sure on the specifications on it but I know there is a huge differance.

Not trying to be mean, but that time does suck for being a 6speed. My first time at the 1/4 track in my stock automatic CL-S I ran a 14.9, and got better from there. So you really need to work on your launches, and shifting. You should be closer to mid 14's stock.

his wrx is 400 WHP and only runs 14.4 that's weak! He might be 400 crank hp if he is telling the truth. I would think with 400 whp you would at least get into 13s or high 12s.

If you look at the video. The wrx that got was blue. The one that had whp was black broke down on the side of the pits in the pics. He was runnin
12 to 13's untill snap.

And yeah I do need to work on my launches then. I didnt know our cars can get that good of numbers. Damn.... I suck...

I would say with your 5000' altitude and therefore thinner air a 15.0 or so would be about right IMO.

Just keep going back to the track...you'll get faster. The altitude definitely hurts you since you're N/A. The Subies shouldn't be quite as affected though since they're being force-fed air. Running high 12's to low 13's in a 400awhp STI is VERY slow. A stock STI puts down, what, about 260awhp? They can routinely run low 13's. That thing should be running low 12's to high 11's w/ a good launch (and a stronger driveshaft).

Funny I just went to the track on Friday night and my first and only pass was a 15.4. I launched terrible though and I was in full auto mode. It felt like a lot faster than that, thought for sure I was in the 14's, but wasn't. Eh, at least I beat the car in the other lane, he ran a 16.7. Oh, and seeing an SRT-4 running a 15.2 helped make me feel better too. Actually there were a lot of fast cars running what seemed to be slow times that night so I wasn't too hurt by my 15 second run. I admit I'm still trying to figure out the best launching method. Plus I had a 1/2 tank of gas, I weigh 230 lbs so I have at least 50lbs on the average dude and I also have about 40lbs of random objects in the trunk. I'm big on run it the way you drive it on the street though so it is what it is. I'm pretty sure if I just practiced more and maybe got rid of some of those things in my trunk and go on a diet I'll be in the mid to high 14's.
