03 CLS 6MT v. Dinan 330i

Tuesday night:

Ran into this guy driving on the way home from work but could never line up. Best was both of hitting the gas at the same time except he went through the gate before i did for the toll.

Result:
He didn't gain any ground.

Wednesday morning:

See the SAME 330i and i couldn't believe it. Lots of traffic so i pace him SAFELY for about 10miles. Then we get too the tolls we both get open road after paying and we hit it:

Result:
I had about a car length. He graciousl flashed his high beams to acknowledge the loss. We both exchanged thumbsup. I wish more BMW drivers were as cool.

If it were from a stop it'd be a drivers race depending on the launch.

I once ran against a Dinan 540i/6 and had a similar result.

Nice kill on the 330.

Don't they only give out those Dinan badges if you actually did work on the car?

i think the rules to receive a dinan badge is atleast 10 dinan points, like CAI is 3 , suspension is 2 and exhuast is 3, etc..

so you can only get a dinan badge if you have a certain number of mods to your car? i don't get it...does a BMW representative check out your car and THEN give you the badge if he approves?

Dinan mods hardly show much gains. Not even worth the mention.

Either way the cls/6 can take it.

DINAN keeps track of all the stuff you buy. Once you hit the amount of points then you get the badge. I know they have already gone through 2 remodels of the emblem. Some people just steal emblems from cars...that's why it isn't worth it to have them on in the first place.

My friend has a Dinan-badged 330ci. He just has a few bolt ons like CAI, exhaust, etc. They do make a s/c though so be careful with that. Problem with Dinan is little hp for big $. It is backed by warranty from BMW though so no voiding. You pay for the piece of mind.

Dinan does not make a SC for the 330.

Nothing irks me more! I see an older 5 series with like 16 inch wheels and an M5 badge in NY from time to time. I also saw some e46 3-sedan with an M-badge the other day. Car looked hot until I saw the M! made me want to not exit and run him

My favorite was the Camaro RS - Type S

The 15 inch wheels and single exhaust were a nice touch.
