Yeah... heard that too. What does that mean? (other than to cause the resulting explosion seen on video...) Did the nitrous boost kick in (driver pushed button at wrong time?) at the bad time and over rev the engine way over top?!?

Someone said on tape that insurance won't be covering it... (not surprised) not regular street car insurance anyway. But how much would something like this cost to repair? just curious...

i would assume the car is totalled. speically since there was flames comming from the engine so you know all the wiring and anything plastic is toasted. they also shot estingusher into the car, and that stuff isnt fun to get off, not to mention the smell of everythting burning. there was also flames comming from the rear so u can tell that stuffs gone too. hes just lucky the gas tank didnt catch n blow. but hell have alot to replace, the hood blew off.

Is that what automotive journalists mean when they review cars and say that "it is explosive off the line" in their articles?

i heard that it might be caused when a hose isn't properly tightened or correctly fitted and is leaking nos all over the engine bay, and when the bay is hot, it catches fire, resulting in the explosion we saw........ that's what a friend said, if its true, i have no idea.

I think it's so dumb how the guy's sexy Z06 is being engulfed in flames and the recorder is laughing. If I was the owner I'll pull a Ron Artest on him!!!

Uuuuuuuuum.... wow. He must've been running a pretty big shot of nitrous on an already high compression engine. He might've threw a rod and the resulting shrapnel sliced the fuel lines which ignited by engine heat and/or sliced "hot" wire from shrapnel. Or the manifold might've blew which would explain the explosive power blowing the hood open which also involved shrapnel and aforementioned external combustion.
Again... WOW!

And yeah, that car's done. Fiberglass usually doesn't stand up too well to fire...

when I saw it I was "in awe", so to me it was "awesome"

definition of awesome. ... Causing awe; appalling; awful; as, an awesome sight.
Expressive of awe or terror.
