So how do you define a "fast car"?

OK... We all know a Z06 is fast, as well as an Enzo, Viper, etc... But those are pretty much on the extreme side as far as STOCK cars.

So what I want to know is... From the factory, what do you defines as a "fast car"? 1/4 runs, no mods. The way I see it, a sub-14 second car is what I consider fast. Not too many cars run that...

high 13s, low 14s is pretty good for a lux car.

I think SPORTS cars should be low 13s.

I thought the CL-S was a really fast car when I first got it. Does not seem so fast now that I am used to it, but it is still faster than most of my friends cars.

Anything in the 12's is FAST, anything between 13.0-14.0 is QUICK, anything from 14.0-15.0 is decent, anything else is slow.

Thats my anyways

In the quarter, I'd say 13's or faster...

But I generally look at the power to weight ratio. Anything close to 10:1 or better is fast.

My Vw bus is about 56:1 while my CLS 6spd is 13:1.

This list is kinda out dated, but here's some examples:

I usually define fast on how much yellow is on the car, # of stickers, and height of back spoiler

Like many others have already said, any car that runs 12s and under is fast.

Stock from the factory anything under 14 is fast. It's really hard to get a car below that & make it streetable. Sure you can say my Viper does 12's, but how does it ride in traffic? The 3 best cars I have driven for power & streetable driving in pure stock form are the 911 turbo, M5, & Z06.

Depends on the category/price of the car. Srt4 is fast for its category just like a viper is for its.

to me, a sub-14 second car from the factory, is fast. Mind you, this rules out a bunch of cars that run in the low 14-second category... I won't mention any names.

If you put a coffee can (preferably Foldgers) on the back of your exhaust you gain 50hp. If you can't find the 1 to 20 inch adaptor ask your local ricer . Also if you add a huge 100lb wing on the back of your car (spoiler) you gain at least 75hp. I've found that putting yellow stripes on the car adds a minimum of 100hp. Don't forget the lambo doors. They make the car more aerodynamic and add 30hp.

But anyway ... I agree with most of the previous posts. 13's or faster is FAST.

A 'fast' car in my opinion should run a 12.2 @ 115-120 mph in the 1/4 in stock form. Anything faster is really pointless unless you are driving > 120 mph. Most 'show of force' exhibitions in the highway rarely exceed 120mph.

A fast car IMO is one that runs mid 11s at 120ish. A fast car also has the ability to brake hard, pull roughly 1 g on the skid pad, and is able to slalom over 70 mph.

Not really, I just have a different opinion on what fast is. BTW, those stats are exactly what the rumors for the new Z06 are.

Responses here will be biased. Most of us drive pretty fast cars by an all-encompassing standard. On a Civic forum, our car is a beast. On a Lambo/Ferrari forum, I bet the majority think sub 12 is fast.

Personally, I said sub 14. Cause that's fucking fast.

u guys gotta remember even with a 14 sec car u can beat most the other cars on the road, when your trapping triple digits u def are making some nice power, i consider wicked fast to be like 110+ traps , i havent really drivin anything faster than like a mid 13 sec car, one of my friends with a 911tt says u know a car is fast as hell when you go WOT and it feels like your insides get all twisted i have never experienced that before

My last car (94 Tbird w/ V8) did 15's. My CLS 6spd does 14's. I really need to get a fast car (in the 13's) next

I tend agree with 14 and below is fast,

14-15 is quick....15-16 is moderate, but still feels quick.

Nice poll! I think about that question from time to time. Quick and fast are different, and I'd say the I/H/E CL-S and the G35C, etc are quick, where jumping a level above that and you're closing in on a "fast" car.
