Question Windows spotting?

I did a search, but couldn't find anything...possibly because I'm not sure how to describe what I'm seeing. I've got an '04 TSX w/ 29K miles, and I've just begun noticing that my side windows and rear window all seem to be spotting, or discoloring, as if it were poorly tinted. As I've never tinted the windows, I'm wondering if this is something I should bring up with the dealer.

Does anyone know what I'm talking about? Is it something others have seen?

Unfortunately no. I'll try to get one, though I'm pretty certain it will be tough to spot via camera.

Is this like water spotting? If so, cleaners like Stoners Invisible Glass work well to remove them.

Nah, it isn't water spotting, it is almost like thin spots in a tint coat. The windows look basically dappled, or almost iridescent depending on the light and angle. Like I said, it is very hard to describe.

I'm going to have the dealer check it out, I have an appointment on Friday anyway, and was wondering if this was something I should have them investigate.

Are they big spots that you can only see in certain lighting and can you see different colors in them?

Are you wearing sunglasses when you see them? If you have a polarized lense, you will see them like that. I see those on my glass when i'm wearing my sunglasses but i dont see them when i take them off. They look like these small round circles about the size of a coin? except they are in rows and are all over the glass right?

I think you hit the nail on the head! That is almost precisely what I see. I recently picked up some polarized glasses (first ever pair), and I haven't tested conclusively, but I think I only see the spots when I have the sunglasses on. (I don't have them on me currently in order to test).

Wow, now I'm kind of glad I didn't bring it up with my dealer...they probably would have laughed in my face

This scares me because I have a feeling that one day you won't need the sunglasses to see them. I can't remember which other car has this issue, but I remeber that there is one make that always came in to the shop with these same circles and you didn't need sunglasses to see them. It didn't look as bad once we tinted the windows, but you could still see that they were there.

They would probably look at you like you were on crack.

Ditto. I see them all the time on my TSX and other cars, even when not wearing sunglasses. Just depends on the lighting.
