Welcome Driver 1 or 2

I have a 2006 TSX. I cannot seem to set up the "Welcome Driver 1 or 2" issue with my keyfob. I have pressed the unlock and lock buttons together to try to link it but it doesnt seem to work as it keeps on saying "Welcome" only...my question is:

When you hold both buttons at the same time..is red light suppose to flash like twice really quickly or just once but really long? I lock the car then unlock it using the keyfob but still on shows "Welcome". I dont know if i am setting it up right and may need to bring it back to the dealer, but wondering if anyone on here can help me out before I go back. Thanks.

I am beginning to wonder if it is an 06 thing. I have linked up my fob with my car. I know this because the seat will move to the driver 1 position. However, when I use my key fob to unlock the door, it only says "welcome". Once, I crank the ignition with the key, then it says "welcome driver 1". Wonder if this is normal?

When you first get in the car, I always only says "Welcome." It's not until you put the key in the car and turn it on that it says "Welcome Driver X."

Which one are you referencing in your original post?

Thanks for the tips. I will try again today but when you hold down both the unlock and lock buttons on the keyfob, are you suppose to wait till the red light blinks twice really quickly before releasing or one long flash cause I have done both and not sure which is the correct one to link it properly.

I figured it out...I had to hold down both buttons until I saw the one long red flash. Both keyfobs are now linked up. Thanks for all your help guys.

Just want to say that "Search" kicks butt. I picked up my new ASM TSX on Monday, and with all the bells and whistles (hey, I'm coming from a '97 Integra LS), I didn't realize until Friday morning that I had the same problem described here. This thread resolved it for me!

Loving my new TSX. The integrated bluetooth is fantastic. Four-banger with 65 more hp than what I had, and mileage not much worse. Awesome car.

Here's a stupid question for all of you guys:

Is there w ay to program it to read "Welcome Bob" instead of reading "Driver 1"?

Cause that would be soooo cool

I wish there was a way to do that too. But I don't think so. They should have thought about that.
