Water inside the headlight assembly

I figure I will post this info on this board for any newbies who have this problem. I have read about a few people with this issue besides me.

After washing my TSX a few times I started to notice condensation inside the drivers side headlight assembly. I didn't think too much of it until the next wash when a lot of water got in and it looked like this...

So I made an appointment with the dealer to look at it.

In between that time my drivers side HID went out! Uh oh!

Long story short...

They had to replace the Headlight Assembly, replace the HID bulb, replace the headlight igniter (it got wet) and adjust the headlights. Apparently the fuse for the radio blew and they had to replace that too.

In any case everything is working and it didn't cost me anything of course since it is under warrenty. So far after a number of washings there is no sign whatsoever of moisture getting inside either headlight assem.

So if you have a TSX and notice moisture getting inside your headlights, take it into the dealer immediately!

This has been a public service annoucement.

I'll keep an eye on that since so far I've been plagued with a few problems on mine.

This is off the subject, but I nominate AC TL's thing on the left side of his posts, whatever it's called, as the BEST thing on the left side of posts, whatever they're called.

Apologies to all of you many others who also have real cool things on the left side of your posts, whatever they're called.

IMO the closest competition was Evangelion's old pic of the chick with the moving mouth and cheek. (Hey, everyone has his points......)

Did they know the root of the problem? Did they or the something with the design change to ensure it doesn't happen again as far as you know?

That I do not know. Something about it not being sealed properly maybe? The service manager didn't seem sure exactly.

I must say that, that is a very nice picture you have taken (quality, angle, lighting), minus the water in the headlight of course. Unless someone can make it look like rain water.

Vibrations in the 2 front doors, even without the radio on, even after the dealer has tried to solve the problem.

My drivers seat just turned loose, each time I slam on the brakes my seat goes forward by about an inch, and it's quickly getting worse.

If anyone ever has to fix this out of warranty. All you need to do is dry out the headlight assembly.

Then run a thin bead of silicone around the black weather strip on the entire assembly. Smooth with your finger. And Let it dry and this will never happen again.

The above has been an issue on Stanley headlight assemblies for years. I assume Stanely makes the TSX assembly?

Sweet I have condensation in my passenger headlight

I don't know exaclty what happened, but I just finished washing my car, and I obviously washed the car before today, and now there is serious condensation and I see the water depost in the upper crevess in the headlight. I am going to the dealer tomarrow, lets just hope they know what TLC (Total Luxury Care) really means to a customer.
