Vsa Problem!!!!!

Ok here it goes:

Friday driving from Raleigh NC to Charlotte NC 3hrs or so and about 200 miles (approx) I stop at a rest area. On the way out there is a nice entrance ramp that has 2 180 degree turns on it so I decide to give it a little lovin and take the turns aggressivly. So coming out on the highway I notice my VSA light is on and I was like "Oh I got that shit good" ........but it stayed on

So I stop at a gas station and restart the car (computer geek in me) and the light goes out but the Check Engine Light is still on. I look it up in the manual and it says check gas cap but the car is still drivable so I proceed. As I let the clutch out and ease into first gear the VSA comes on again. Call to the dealership and they advise towing (service dept closed)

Drop the car off at the dealership on Friday night late and leave a note. I call in the morning and they say they got it checked out. Just reset the VSA so I was like cool. They said they didn't know what the problem was but it shouldn't happen again.

Drive out of the dealership to my fiance's house and during a 3-4 shift at about 4500 rpm the light comes back on!!!!! But of course that dealership and my own dealership have their service depts closed by then. I happened to ask before I left that if it happened again is it drivable. They said yes. So tomorrow I have to drive it back to Raleigh (200 miles) and then monday morning drop it off at the dealership and get a loaner. My car only has 800 miles!!!!

Can someone help me out and call a service dept that is still open and confirm that the car can be driven????!?!?!?!

Thanks

Stash - That sucks man

I think all of the service places are closed dude ... you might be looking at Monday, but I would call Acura Roadside and get them on the case ! Tell them you do not feel like your car is safe to drive and see what Acura can do for you (loaner, tow, etc.)

Good luck and let us know how it turns out!

all acura will do is tow it to the closest dealership. It is up to the dealership to give you a loaner. They will pay for a rental if I get it. I'll just drop it off at performance monday on my way to work. I'll have to drive it back to raleigh though. They said it was drivable but at a degraded performance and gas mileage.

i was hoping someone on the west coast could call their dealership.

Stash,

How hard did you push it on the ramp?
I had some fun with mine around the twisties till the front tires started to screech but that didn't trigger the VSA sensors at all...
Now I'm beginning to wonder if that thing actually works...

Drive it a little hard in the rain. I think the VSA's main purpose is to help you get out of skids safely.

I rather find that out in the winter when we have more than 2" of fresh snow...

huh?

VSA has nothing to do with VTEC...

VSA has many sensors to gather data from, if that is what you mean?

well the sensor measures oil pressure and determines when VTEC should kick in

so when it is malfunctioning the car may think it is in vtec and when it acutally doesn't get there it throws on the VSA and check engine light

kinda like a safety net............

that is how it was explained to me and it made some sense

hmm, now that i think of it i dont think ive seen that light come on. i mean i was playing in a parking lot when the sprinklers had been on so there was a nice ammount of water but the tires wouldnt spin too much when i would start taking some hard turns. maybe i didnt notice it. can you feel the brakes come on? or does it just cut gas to the engine like the revlimiter does? hmmm ill check the rest of the forum now cuz im curious to this thing i never really paid attention to it.
