TSX No Start Issue After Trans Work

Having a really strange electrical issue with our 05 6 speed TSX. Started out as a trans noise that I diagnosed as a chipped ring gear in the trans. Tore it down and replaced the gear and put everything back together. Went to start it and it took and few seconds of cranking but reluctantly started and I drove it around the block without issue but I did notice the speedo wasn't working and the check engine light came on. Got back to the house and it wouldn't start back up. Went to plug in my code reader and it will not connect to the ECU to pull any codes. I noticed the green key light/immobilizer flashing in the cluster when I insert the key and switch it to on and sometimes the VSA light displays. I've gone back over everything and the only thing I could find wrong was that I forgot to reinstall the trans mount ground strap. Bolted it back down and held the battery cable terminals together to reset the ECU and still no change... I'm about to troubleshoot the immobilizer but otherwise I'm out of ideas since I didn't mess with anything electrical.

So in summary..

What I did-
-dropped the k member & removed the trans
-replaced the final drive gear
-reinstalled everything

Symptoms-
-initially started reluctantly and ran fine around the block
-got back home and it did start again but would immediately die once under any load
-now it cranks but doesn't start
-immobilizer light flashing with either set of keys
-sometimes VSA light comes on
-obd reader won't connect to ecu

Things I've Checked-
-all fuses i've checked were good
-ecu doesn't appear to be burned anywhere on the board
-reattached ground strap and reset by holding battery terminals together with no change

Any ideas??

I would suspect a ground was left unconnected or damaged. checjk work carefully.

good luck
