I'm on a roll! Two posts this morning!

Does anyone know if the driver side seat belt has a Honda part number that would be cheaper than Acura? My seat belt is fraying, and I won't pass annual inspection. This needs to be replaced.

I've already been through the local dealer, parts manager, and Acura Customer Relations on this issue. They will not replace this under any semblance of a warranty. Their charge is in the $560+ range.

Used seat belt assy's are available on ebay.

No idea if Honda belt assys fit, but doubtful since anchor points tend to be specific for vehicle.

Are these used parts still good?

 

I would try to buy a local part (car-part.com search) before buying used from ebay. That said, I have bought many used parts through ebay and been well satisfied w/ all of them. I have not bought a seat belt, but would certainly do so if need arose.

mine has been replaced free at dealer. they say they have lifetime warranty ??

 

check the owners manual but i think seat belts have life time warranty

 

Yes, seat belts are lifetime warranty.

 

Call corporate and raise hell. They tried to make me pay for a driver side seatbelt buckle that was causing the airbag light, but one call to corporate and they were able to warranty it. Seatbelts are a lifetime item.

 

According to the dealer, the "lifetime warranty" only applies to the mechanical parts, and not the "webbing" (i.e. the belt). I ordered a replacement and installed it last weekend.

Been some time, but I replaced the driver side seat belt assembly. Didn't take too long, but then I have tools to remove moldings and such. Bought the replacement from https://www.acuraoemparts.com as they had the best price.
