Trouble Starting Car... Sometimes

I was wondering if anyone is having the same problem as me...

Occasionally, maybe 3 for 4 times a month, it takes a LONG crank (7-8 cranks) to start the engine. If I don't hold the key to start the car for 7-8 cranks, it won't start. The engine will turn on to 500rpm and then die. When the car starts fine, it only takes 3-4 cranks of the starter... even though 3-4 seem like a hell of a lot compared to other cars (I know, I know, this the 3-4 crank issue has been discussed before).

I took the car to acura and they said if they can't reproduce the problem, they won't/can't fix it. So i'm in a bind. Do you guys think the starter in my car is bad or is this a problem you guys have also?

Here is a thread about a member who had to get their starter replaced:

A couple of member have complained about the car taking to long to start. The thread above is the first one I've read that had to be replaced because of total failure.

It is probably normal. In the manual it states:

"At times, the engine may take longer to start than usual; the engine management software is working to reduce emissions at startup"
