Sudden loss in low end power

Recently i have felt a definate loss in low end torque. I checked the few things i thought it could be, but nothing. I have the car for 2 years with 27,000 miles on it. So i can tell when it drives different. My injen is connected all properly, no need for an oil change. Maybe its just the recent 90 degrees heat? I am little worried about it. Any suggestions?

The combination of heat + humidity in the air might be partially attributable for the power loss, but if it's really significant, might not be the hole explanation. Are there any other symptoms (like increase of noise, etc.) that might indicate something else on top of the added heat?

Also, can you definitively recall the timing of this loss of low-end torque with the heat in your area?

How long have you had your Injen? First Summer with it on? When I had my '98 Prelude, I definitely felt the loss of torque in Summer time after I had put on the SRI.

Bad tank of gas causing the ECU to retard timing?

You would definately get a CEL for that. It would throw it for misfires, not just retard the timing for bad fuel.

If a driver has an SRI, they need to consider a Hondata heatshield gasket. If the air is dense in addition to hot, power will suffer dramatically under heavy loads.

check for cracks or holes in the exhaust or intake..that can cause drop in low end power.

It's the heat + humidity! I've lost a bit of low-end torque lately, too. 90+ degress in Jersey will do that to ya.

yea a/c would be obvious answer but i never use it, even in 90 degree heat. Bad tank a gas maybe but i think i have refueled acouple times since i noticed.

i dont really recall when it started, before this recent heat wave i think.

i am thinking something with the intake. This is not the first summer with it though.

the loss is most significant around 2,000-3500 rpms

Must be the heat. I've noticed the same thing and kinda figured the same reason. I never thought I'd find another reason to miss winter (the only other one being Christmas).
