Question some damage to SS mode?

Today my gf drove my TSX 5AT in Sequential Sportshift mode. she downshifted from 4 gear to 1 when the speed came down but still in high speed, then the car shaked seriously for three times suddenly. Is it the phenomenon that the engine is cut in and out? I am just wondering whether it will casue some damage or it is all controlled by the computer???

SS doesn't let you downshift if it will cause the engine to over-rev. It will just blink at you when you try to do so. I don't know what could have caused the car shaking seriously.

Yui is right. You can not over rev the engine when downshifting in SS mode. The ECU will not let it happen. What probably happened is that the revs climbed very high at the lowest possible gear..above 5000 rpms or so and ur GF freaked out and let up the gas a bit then pressed down on it a few times....which caused the car to jerk due to the high power at that rev range...

Yeah, she probably downshifted into the VTEC band of the lower gear or something.

what is "VTEC band of the lower gear"?
so it is just the revs reaches too high but it does not cause any damage to the transmission, right?

she probably downshifted into the 6,000 rpm range. just don't downshift straight into 1st gear when you're moving - in 5AT or 6MT.
