Exclamation Rear Camber TSB

Hey guys,

There has been some discussion regarding rear camber issues on the TSX (specifically, it being out of spec). I thought I would pass along this info.

I just learned that Acura released TSB 06-007 on March 8, 2006 addressing the right rear camber being out of spec on the TSX. Affected models include all 04s and a range of 05s. As I understand it, the solution involves replacing the right rear upper arm and a four wheel alignment.

Mods: I apologize if this is a repost.

I don't see that being on AllData yet, but no telling when the system updates. I'll check again since it has only been issued for 9 days.

Hmm So should I hold off on my shocks + spring install until I take my car in for this or do it regardless?

I am thinking do it and take it to dealer for a free alignment?

You will not get a free alignment after a shock or spring install.

In the Post #1 says "...the solution involves replacing the right rear upper arm and a four wheel alignment...."

If they do replace the part won't it require an alignment regardless?

If you put aftermarket parts on the suspension to lower it down, the dealer is not going to give you a free alignment. However, I see your point in the TSB. You might be lucky and get away with it. I just see dealers saying, you lowered it so you deal with the camber issues now.

That might be a grey area with the dealer.

Can anyone tell me if TSB's are applicable to cars w/ mileage above the bumper-to-bumper warranty? I have 90K+ km's (bumper to bumper up at 60K km's). Will this apply, and does the dealer HAVE to do it or is it "if they feel it needs it" ?

Debating on doing this before the Comptech RSB goes on in a month, just so they don't bitch about it.

From an Acura policy standpoint, at least according to my dealer, the TSB for this states you must be within warranty mileage.

Or at the service managers discretion.

Is this TSB a fix for the drifting to the right on crowned roads?

Nope... I work for an aircraft engines maker, but I play an Acura employee on T.V.

I have access to a lot of Honda/Acura stuff.

I'm still not seeing the TSB posted in AllData yet. Once I do, I'll copy it here.

Aircraft engines? Lycoming? Rolls Royce? GE? Continental?
That's awesome!

I have a '05 model, does that mean if I take it to the dealership and mention this, they will fix it under warranty?

compare the vin range on the tsb and with your car. if your car is within the vin range, you should be ok.

if your car is not within the vin range, i'm not sure what would happen.

btw, the alldata index for the tsx is very informative. thanks. i used to check alldata, but it would only allow me to view the problem description, nothing more...

"you should be ok." = "you should be able to take it to the dealer for the warranty work w/o hassle."

The majority of the TSBs listed are for the MDX and the TL. Looks like those two vehicles have numerous problems!

Is there a general website that I can refer to for a list of all TSB's for the TSX? Thanks!

Dude, your car's drifting on crowned roads because the road is slanted.

Partially true, but my girlfriend's 06 VW Jetta barely veers left on any road. My 350Z did not drift NEARLY as much. Crowned roads will cause drift, but I have never had a car drift like the TSX. I'll ask again, will the TSB help in this area?
BTW, I have had an alignment, but there was no fix for rear camber at the time.

remember...this is just a tsb. not a recall. if your tsx is not out of spec, they will not replace or fix anything

An alignment report. Every shop has the ability to give one and they can't edit the measurements.

It wouldn't hurt to have your dealership check it. Perhaps during your next visit. That reminds me, I need to call them about the light in my right seat heater button. It burned out. BTW, thanks for posting this TSB.........

So if i have the a-spec suspension on that i installed myself, and take it to acura to fix this problem and get an alignment, would they give me a hard time?

I installed the a-spec kit but never got an alignment because i had to go back to college and nobody was going to drive it until i got back.

Anybody got an opinion on this? Also does anyone know where i can buy the service manual for cheaper than $69.00?
