Shouldn't the TSB linked and discussed in this thread be posted in the FAQ forum?

OK, my opinion is that if you installed it yourself then you should pay for the 4 wheel alignment. However, if they cannot align it and have to replace the rear upper arm (per the TSB) then the replacement and anlignment should be on Acura's nickel (unless they can conclusively show that you damaged or bent something causing it not to be able to be aligned). It is, after all, an Acura suspension component and should fit properly. My

As far as the service manual goes, very rarely do I see one go up for sale in our Black Market section and, if they do, they sell pretty quickly. So, unless you get lucky, it'll be $69.

I looked at it this way: $69 (or $100 CDN shipping included in my case)... if it saves me 1 or 1.5 hours of shop labour by being able to do it myself, it is now paying ME to own it from then onwards.

The service manual is ABSOLUTELY worth the money.

I still don't find the TSB from this thread in the FAQ section. The most recent posts in the FAQ section appear to be several months old.

I added it at the end of the first post here: https://acurazine.com/forums/showthread.php?t=24738
Go to FAQ section and look at the 9th thread down, title: "FAQ: TSBs, Recalls, and Known Issues"

Problem with TSB

I recently found out about the TSB 06-007 regarding the right rear camber being out of spec... I called my dealer about it and read the TSB to them. I have an 05 TSX and the vin range on the tsb is from JH4CL9....5C000001 thru 5C015076. Mine is 5C009082....which is between the range.

The dealer looked up my vin and they didn't find any TSB or recalls for it. They even looked up the TSB and saw the vin range but said that since nothing comes up on their computer with my specific vin, then i'm not affected. I also called Acura Care and they told me the same thing and were not even considering having it looked at. Their explanation was that even though I fell in the range, my car could have been fixed before the dealership got it while the others were still faulty??

My dealership finally agreed to at least make an apointment to look at it, but they said I can't have a loaner while they look at it. This doesn't make sense to me. Any thoughts?

So you have heard from your dealer and Client Service.
I think the dealer is being reasonable - it seems that's how the Honda/Acura network operates: TSB is just a preliminary note, there is discretions/exceptions, they have a separate QA system that keep serial number of every major parts that goes into the car.

They agree to take a look for free and you're expecting a loaner ?
don't be such a PITA, know when enough is enough.

Yes, i'm expecting a loaner. Why not? I work and I can't wait around. This should be expected of a luxury brand. My car is in warranty and there is a TSB out for it... plus I had to really argue for them to just even agree to make the appointment.

I'm taking mine into the stealership tomorrow. Printed out the TSB b/c on other warranty items the service rep had claimed they "couldn't find anything." Funny when I offer them the bulletin number they magically find TSB.

Hopefully the trip won't be very eventful. I have about 30 miles left till I hit 50k.

Smile I'm very happy

I had the right rear upper control arm replaced on my 2004 TSX yesterday under the TSB linked in this thread.

When I got the car in early 2004 I had issues with it being out of alignment. The right rear camber was the farthest out of spec. My dealer (White Bear Acura) replaced both of the upper control arms as well as the lower control arm on my right rear at that time. With these changes the camber on the right rear changed from -1.9 to -1.4...just outside of the spec range (-0.7 to -1.3). I wasn't totally happy as the alignment was still a little outside of spec. But my dealer had really done all that could be done at that time to bring it into spec. And, the car handled way better than it had initially.

The new improved replacement control arm, now being supplied under this TSB, brought my right rear camber to -0.9. The car handles way way way better.

My thanks go out to Bill Leigh and his service staff at White Bear Acura.

I took the car to the dealer for braking issues and also asked them to check the rear camber specs because of the TSB. Result - Right rear camber at -2.4 and thus, this TSB applies to my car. Anyways, the dealer ordered the part and I'm schedule for next week to have this taken care of.

I took my car today for the Rear Camber TSB along with a few other things. They told me that the TSB applies to my car, but the Rear Control Arm is on national back order and they have to wait for it to be released.

In addition, I gave the idle rattle problem one more shot, and they told me that because of my comptech header and random tech cat, they will not diagnosis the problem. They just assume it is due to the aftermarket header and cat.

After convincing the dealership there was a TSB on this issue the part was ordered. The shop over two weeks to get the part in for me so I guess they were afflicted with the same ordering delays.

The car no longer pulls to the right. I feel more confident at high speeds on windy days.

I went to the dealership this past tuesday to have my cd changer replaced. I also inquired as to whether they received the control arm so they can perform the TSB. Evidently, they did not even order the part at my first visit. They wanted to do an alignment to see if it was out of spec first. Well, the results concluded that I was eligible for the TSB, so they ordered the part.

However, when they performed the alignment, they screwed up my steering wheel. It is no longer centered, and I have to keep it slightly turned to the left to make it go straight. I will complain about this when they get the part in.

I hate it when they fix one thing only to screw up something else.
