Hello everyone. I wanted to see if someone could help me with a problem that I have been having for the past 8 months that the dealer has not been able to resolve for me. My radio goes out for a quick second and simultaneously the air bag light on the dash board goes on. If it is at night time you can actually see the dash board lights dim down along with the radio and ac lights. They have changed out the radio thinking it was the radio. They have changed out the seat belt eject button stating that is why the air bag light goes on and still I have the same problem. It does this anywhere from 10 to 15 times in a 10 min drive or sometimes just once or twice. The dealer swears it never does it to them. I also have video for it on different occasions. When the radio is low you can hear like a deep sound. (thump). And when the car is parked with the ac on the radio also goes out when I hear the fan go on.

I forgot to mention I have a 2004 tsx with no navigation system.

 

Have a tech ride with you for 15 minutes. If it always does it for you, it'll keep doing it for you while the tech is there.

 

Well it varies from when it does it. A tech took it home and he said it didn't do it once. And they did drive it for a while bc I wrote down how many miles I had on it before I left it. They approximately drove it 50 miles.

 

does the radio 'reset' ever when this happens? If it does, as it has happened to me occasionally in my '05, it could be a grounding issue.

 

No it has not reset it self.

 

i have a 2004 non-nav too and it just started happening to me too but now a bit more frequently than usual, during a cd or radio it cuts out for a second and then continues to play normal. it just cuts out. VERY irritating. not sure what it is

any thoughts?

 

call Acura Client Services, there might be a recall on the radio unit

 

You can try checking the charging system. I say this because the op mentioned his dash lights diming at night.

 

^Wrd,could be the Alternator 'cause ur symptoms happened to me on my 6th gen AV6 'til i replaced the alternator and then it stopped..check that first
