Problems - @#$@#$!

Here's the story...

so two weeks ago I find that my power door lock for my front passenger wasn't working...ok cool...no problem. I called in for service last Friday to have it worked on. They tell me they need to replace an actuator. I get the car back, try out my power locks from the keyfob and that works. I'm on my way.

Next morning I'm cleaning out my front passenger side, I can't open the door from the inside. Great, they forgot to attach something when they were putting things back together. I could open it from the outside door handle but not from the inside...great. I call to make another appt for this Friday.

Last night I had a passenger in my car on the way to a basketball game. So I had this idea that he could open up the door by using the power window down then opening it from his side to get himself out. Well, I put the window down but it would not roll back up. I tried everything and would not roll back up. My other 3 windows work fine.

So what could be wrong with the window? Could they have disconnected something? I have the window up mod but it only happens on the front passenger side that they worked on to replace the actuator. My other 3 windows work fine. The window could go down but would not roll back up from either the driver side or the passenger side.

any ideas? I have a loaner right now and they're overnighting some parts to fix it but wanted to make sure you guys haven't encountered anything like this before.

They're overnighting parts to get it fixed. They told me this morning they thought it would be simple but I guess not.

I also have the up-window mod and have not experienced that problem. It must be something they forgot to hook up or is broke in your door.

Likely they did a half assed job. Take it back to them and get it done properly. Is there any chance you could take out the KPTech mod before you take it in to get it fixed. Then when all is well, reinstall it.

I don't think it's the window mod since my other windows do not exhibit the symptoms. It's just a relay that's hooked up on the driver side panel. I did notice however they did gouge the plastic on my window up button on my passenger side though. They're replacing that as well.

It's fixed...but I still think it's a shitty job...

I can still see some nicks but you can't see it unless you're right on top of it.

I'm writing a letter...

I just wanted to add to this thread. The service at open road acura is terrible. This is the second time I take my car to fix something and they end up causing a new problem. I took my car in to get the door lock actuators replaced on the front driver and passenger sides. They fixed the auto door lock problem but like the OP, I could not open the passenger side door from the inside. In addition, when i was inspecting the side of the door, I noticed that they didn't even torque the scews. They were obviously loose and one was even sticking out. Now I have to wake up super early to take my car in tomorrow so they can fix it. This is annoying.

Hey NJTSX...I feel your pain dood. I just took a closer inspection this morning and a couple of screws were stripped, there panel still hard some marks from opening up with a screw driver and there is a new mark on my arm rest panel where it looks like something was burned. Son of a bitches....I'm not taking my car in any fucking more. I'm writing them a damn letter with pictures. I'm tired of this shit...

Yea, looking at those pics it was a shit job. My 14 year-old would have done a much better job. They should replace those panels, and I can't believe they re-used that philips screw

Glad to hear they are picking it up and gonna work on it hopefully it comes back better.

updates? I would demand more than just an apology and them fixing the problem. You should be compensated with something for having to be set back for that shitty work and because if you didnt pay close attention you would have had to live with your damaged car.

Yeah I would deff make them replace what ever they messed up. Mine went bad about a month ago so I just ordered the part through my job and fixed it myself. I ended up fixing the lock for 16 bucks cant beat that and it only took a half hour.
