problem with new brakes

I purchased a full set of RB rotors and Hawk HPS pads from Heeltoe for front and rear. I had them installed about a week ago at Signal here in Torrance, CA because I didn't really feel like doing it myself. My problem is I have about 200 miles on the car since then and my brakes aren't really grabbing like they should. They feel weaker than my stocks. Sometimes when i come to a complete stop they kinda make like a fart noise. I guess thats the best way to explain it. And when my windows are rolled down and i hit the brakes, they are pretty loud. Not really like a metal scrapping noise but kind of. It's hard to explain. Sort of like a hissing/scrapping noise.

Did you bed/burnish them in ?

Burnishing Instructions

1. After installing new brake pads, make 6 to 10 stops from approximately 30-35 mph applying moderate pressure.
2. Make an additional 2 to 3 hard stops from approximately 40 to 45 mph.
3. DO NOT DRAG BRAKES!
4. Allow 15 minutes for brake system to cool down.
5. After step 4 your new pads are ready for use.

You don't have a "problem with new brakes", you don't like the way your new
brakes work. You have replaced a quiet aggressive initial bite pad with one that
has less initial bite and makes a fart noise (chatter) just before the car stops.
The scraping noise is part of the equation too - that's the pad and rotor noise that
comes with a ceramic metallic pad. There are plusses and minuses with each pad
compound - the stock ones are designed to work well under most conditions
with fewest customer complaints. The Hawks will probably require more pedal effort too, which you have mentioned.

maybe go with the Hawk Ceramic's since that's what Hawk's website recommends for our car.

I have the ceramics on my car with the rotora slotted rotors and they grip fine after I did the hard stops. The initial 3 stops felt really smooth but once they gripped it was back to normal when braking. I also get that "Fart" when I stop, I thought it was due to the weather being humid.

I have the ceramics, and I notice less bite than stock. But the lack of vibration and decreased fade more than makes up for it.
