power transistor for heater fan
I have a 2004 Acura TSX (nearing 100K miles) and the heater fan stopped working in the dead of winter...
Many report that the power transistor could be bad. It's below the glove compartment, near the center console. I can't reach the screws on the transistor in order to replace it.
Has anyone been successful in replacing the power transistor on their TSX? Do you have any suggestions on how to reach the transistor?
thanks!

It took some work, but I figured it out & will share the info for other TSX owners.
The 2004 TSX has the power transistor at the same location as the Accord version. You can see a tutorial here:
There is a reference on how to do your own repairs here:

If you'd like to buy the part, the part # is 79330-SDA-A01. It is called a power transistor. The same part sells at Honda and Acura dealers. They'll match an on-line price. You can quote acuraoemparts.com, which comes from a dealer in Florida. The part runs $53; shipping is additional $10:

There are two screws that fasten the power transistor to the car. Removing the right screw was easy; removing the left screw was difficult. I had to buy an extra-long philips screwdriver to reach it. And to even reach it, I had to take off the glove compartment. You'll need a ratchet to remove the two bolts which fasten the glove compartment to the car.
