Power door lock problem
Hi all,
Yesterday I noticed my driver side door lock doesn't work by pressing the automatic button. I hear the sound but it jams along the way. It does work with the key.
I tried putting some lube but the problem still continues.
Anyone had a similar issue and a fix would be very much appreciated.
Thanks!

Burning Brakes
yep had the same issue fixed last week. I should have done it myself. I took my car to the dealer and they charged me $220 for the repair on the driver side. I only paid cause I had it there and I was out with my kids for Memorial Day weekend, I didn't want to waste the weekend doing it. If you have the time, do it yourself!

I'm just amazed that there hasn't been a lawsuit filed on this yet. Door actuators should typically last at least 100k miles. On our 99 Accord we have 92,000 miles and not one issue with the regulators.
I think everyone needs to send a letter to Honda expressing concern about the issue and ask that they increase the warranty period on this hardware. This is what happens when they try to save money and switch from metal gears to plastic ones. When my sister had her 08 Accord, two of them fail within 4,000 miles. The passenger's front at 32,500 and the driver's rear after 36,000.
Toyota is going to be known for their peddle accelerator problem and Honda will be known for their failing door actuators.

^ That is very true. I see a trend in failing door lock actuators mainly on Honda vehicles. Even on the older Honda's the actuators were making grinding noises after so many years. I have not seen this problem with our '87 Nissan or Toyotas.

An update for anyone wondering, I picked up the part this morning.
Cost me $52 with taxes.
Asked how much it would cost to install, they quoted me at $200 as they charge $100 an hour and its about an hour and a half job + the part.
