You just need something like this:

Any auto parts store will have it. Its called a brake piston tool.

Just make sure to watch your brake fluid level when you push the piston back. Dont let it over flow.

You would use the tool above with the "old" brake pad to push the piston back in. The old brake pad is used to protect the piston and provide leverage. Also watch the piston seal and make sure it's not damaged by mistake.

As JTso said, you will use one of the old pads and this tool to press the caliper piston back in. 2 hints, use a little lube (WD40 or lithum grease) around the boot and caliper piston before you press it back in. This way if the boot won't rip from age/heat if it should bind a little. The piston is pushed straight back in.

Just a heads up, there are totally different instructions and tools for doing the rear brake pads.

in addition, using the car spare jack for brake work (or any work for that matter) is a NO-NO. spend the $30 on a real jack.

bah, now i know i have to spend some money when my brakes wear down. On my accord, the piston had a slot that I could use a screw driver to twist it back in.

joerockt, the site for the pic you posted an hour ago is down....did you have the picture or site saved? Or can you describe what it is?

Its just a pic of a C-clamp (6" I think?) on the caliper pushing the piston back in with the pad.

The rears could technically be screwed in. The fronts are always a push in.

For the rear brakes, I used a special tool that allows you to use a socket wrench to screw the piston back in. BTW, pic above is working.
