My TSX won't start :(

Right now we're at about 37F and my car is defiantly staying UNstarted . I've been noticing that it's been giving me this trouble since it first started getting cold and gradually getting worse and now today is the day it finally happened >:/. My car has a yellow top and from what I can tell it has nothing to do with it. Tried jump starting, and all though I know I should not do successive cranks, I did... and it didn't work. What is going on? I want to get to church ; work too i guess...

I had a yellow top too and it died 2 days out of warranty. You sure it's not a totally dead battery? If its toast, you might need a new battery to start it. Easiest way to know it's a battery, for me, was the instrument cluster lighting up then flickering to dead when I tried and it clicked merrily away.

The here is why didnt you have it checked out... but moving on these are the symptoms of a dying battery or a charging system issue.

I... don't... know. For some reason a bad battery would not register lol. It attempted to turn over a few times before starting to show signs of weakening so I assumed it still had life. I had it tested about 5-6 months ago i think and back then it checked out fine/above spec. Could it have really gone from AOK to dud in that amount of time? The only electrical anomaly (if you want to call it that) is one of my headlights being out. Could that somehow contribute to a drain on the battery/system?

Cold weather can slow those electrons down unexpectedly.

Get a voltage meter and get a battery reading. If you don't have one, take the batter to Autozone and have it tested. Then you will know for sure, but I it sounds like a dead battery.

All kinds of yellow top horror stories here over the years. Crappy battery and overpriced. Talk about adding insult to injury....

I moved from Katy in August and had battery troubles prior to moving. Any auto parts store can test the battery for you. If you go with OEM you will get a 100 month warranty (pro-rated) plus full replacement if it fails within 2 yrs.

Alright guys, here's the deal. Now this one's a bit of a doozie. For starters, the battery is fine. But the actual problem goes much deeper than that. Way deep... into the battery cables... Turns out the owner before had quite the acid leakage problem from a chaepo battery causing some SEVERE corrosion to the cables that connect to the battery. But it doesn't end there. It also turns out that my starter has also went out. My guy tested the battery and although it is the size Honda recommends, he like many thinks I should move on to a bigger one when I get the chance. But for now it's no issue and giving good charge despite me cranking it like a madman last night . He's going to fabricate some new cables and connectors for me and change out my starter as well as my intake manny gasket as he'll have to take it off to get to the starter. He's also giving me a killer price as always .

Cool, nice explaination of what when wrong, especially since it's non-standard.
