My car's first problem! =(

Well Im kinda pissed now. Today I was driving back to my apt. from houston, and on the way my AC started blowing HOT air. I had to drive one and half hr in the freakin HOT sun, it isnt fun driving like that in this texas heat. I cant believe my ac went out already, my car is only 5 months old with 10,600 miles! man, honda's reliability has gone down the drain. im not sure what the problem is, but ill have to drive back to houston, and get it checked out. That is ANOTHER 1hr and 30mins in the sun again! :'( Im seriously considering trading my car in for a toyota pirus now.

Is there a local Acura dealer (where you are now 1-1/2 hrs. from Houston) that can take a quick look at it? Can you feel the compressor cycling on and off while you drive? If yes then its something with the cooling loop if no then its in the controls (or compressor).

There is a Honda dealer in CS that would look at it for you. When my son was going to Blinn College in CS he would take his Acura CL to the Honda dealer for work.

I can vouch for John Eagle Acura on Hwy 6 near I-10. Ask for either Roman Blandino or Eric Younger in service.

well i drove back to houston in the insane heat again today. The problem seems to be that a rock hitted my compressor, therefore there is a hole now. bad news is that this is not covered in the standard or extended warranty i have since it isnt a manu. defect. what does everyone think about this? anyhow it will cost me 730 dollars to fix. ouch!

Sorry, but I can't buy the rock making a hole in the compressor story. The compressor casing is harder than an ordinary rock. Besides, how can a rock make its way into the engine compartment at highway speeds, especially with the under shields on the car?

I just found out the same thing. AC died yesterday, happened to have an appt today. Only exception is a cracked condenser, not compressor. I'm out the same $700. Just barely have 3000 miles on it.

NOT HAPPY.....

sounds like a reasonable explanation I guess. Probably nothing you can do about it except pay.

i think i heard a couple of incidents about this on the RSX. i think some members modified their bumpers with grills to protect rocks and such.
