body work needed
Sigh........Backed my three-week old TSX into a stop sign tonight.
Don't ask why, I've done the same thing to my 03 Tauraus before.
Left a small dent and several scraches on the trunk cover. Yet to see how it looks under daylight.
Anybody know a good body shop in Indianapolis and how much it might cost to get it fixed?
Thanks.

Took the car to two bodyshops today, quote was $580 from one place and $660 from another.
One guy described to me how he would do it:
1. Scrub the dented part to the metal, then suck it up, use hammer to make it level.
2. Take the acura, tsx, back lights off so there are no paint lines.
3. Spray paint the trunk cover part and part of side-panel.
4. Clear coating the rear 1/2 part of the car.
This sounds to me is way too complicated for a small dent and a few scratches.
Should I just forget about the whole thing?

candycat, welcome to A-TSX, sorry to hear about the accident.
I'm not an expert in body work, but ~$600 sounds kinda low for the amount of work you're describing. ("The bitterness of low quality lingers long after the sweetness of low price is forgotten") Without seeing the dent it's hard to know what might be needed. Anyway, is just living with the dent an option? If it is, then spend the money on something more important to you. If not, find someone that will guarantee to fix it to your satisfaction (repair not noticeable in any way), hold them to their promise and pay what they ask.
