My Car Was On Fire!

Alright so weird thread topic but its true, it was! So i have angel eyes on my car and one went out but all the rest were fine and the one the went out was struggling to get power and u could see it flickering like its someones job, so i opened the hood up and everything looks fine but this weird smell was commin from my engine so im like hmmm whatever and kept lookin around nothing.... so i turned everytihng off waited a little went back to see if i could figure the problem out and i turn the lights on and i hear this zapping noise so i walk over from my drivers seat to the front of my car and these wires are sparkin so i run back and turn my lights off and realize that my angel eyes' wires are the ones messin up so i asked my dad to help me disconnect them so i dont have to cut them, they wouldnt come undone cuz i tihnk the plastic clips melted together. My dad wanted to see the problem so he told me to turn them on again i told him it wasnt a good idea till he told me just do it, my car will be fine, i do it and the thing goes up in a small flame and larger and larger it got... long story short we put the fire out and im tryin to find out what are the possible reasons they caught on fire!? And if i went back to acura how much would new headlamps cost cuz i know my warantees GONE..thanks for the help

Wink

Seeing as you asked nicely and it's Xmas..........nah, no chance!
If you're going to post a lot of words, it's best to have a structure that makes it easy for fellow members to read it first time through, and not make it such that they need five attempts to find your point.
By the way, what was your point?
Fire, father, car - that's about as much as I could decipher.

The possible cause would be poor install or lack of fuse protection against shorting out. It doesn't matter if the car is under warranty or not as it won't cover user errors. A new set of lights cost around $600 - $650 online, or you can buy a set of used ones off ebay for much cheaper.

Awwl sorry to hear about your car AJ. It's probably best to figure out what went wrong and learn from those lessons. I still have my AE kit uninstalled. I DON'T CARE what other people think about them, I like them. Period. I just can't find any one knowledgeable to install them for me since I'm not very good with electrical stuff. I recall you had Mr install them and you said they weren't well wired (?)

Hope you get your car back in order.
