Lowering and Headlight Aiming

...any correltation?

For those of you who have lowered your cars, have you noticed that your visibility has decreased?

If so, have you reaimed your headlights?

yes I did notice, and yes I did reaim them. however, because you're now lower, if you angle your headlights up a bit so you can see anything on unlit backroads, on flat highways, the beams will go on forever blinding everyone.

I think most people lowered the front more than the back. So in theory the headlights would be pointing a little lower since the back head is raised up a little bit.

I haven't noticed it, but I only have aspec drop and I think that lowers the same amount on all 4 corners.

Did you reaim them yourself or did you take it to the dealership?

its pretty easy, search for detailed instructions. in short, open the hood, look directly down above each headlight. you should see a hole with a gear thing inside. if you stick a phillips head screwdriver into the gear and turn it'll raise and lower that headlight. you can also attach a socket to the back and turn that gear mechanism.

do the adjustment at night against a flat wall and make sure the 2 headlight beams match up to make a sharp line.

guys LOL something hilarious happened last night. So I pulled up to my garage and turned on my headlights, looked at the level and raised them about 4 inches on my garage door. I was in a hurry to get outa there, so I headed out, and when i got on the road my headlights were as high as the trees!!! I felt like such a jackass and kept getting flashed at, but didn't have time to adjust them, guess i'm gonna have to do it this evening. Those things are BRIGHT when you aim them high

I think my Accord Euro has an auto levellingt feature on the HID. I was browsing through the manual and It says there is no adjustment required for one equipped with HID. And yes I do notice a slight reduction of visibility at night. I think the pro-kit drop is lower at the back, so I should lower the rear more to match the front.

only way to know that your HID has auto levling is by turning your headlights on and see if light goes up and down. What is doing is adjusting itself to find the right angle and right height.

Autoleveling headlights are not available on any Honda/Acura vehicles.

The RL has "AFS" (Active Front Lighting System), which swivels the inside-turn HID in the direction of the turn, but this is linked to the steering wheel position, not to a gyroscope.

My Euro CL7 Honda Accord 2006 has autoleveling HIDs and yes I'm concern if it's ok to lower the car safely ?
Anyone know if the autoleveling sensors are linked somehow to the suspension for this particular car ?
