Low Freon?

When I last went to the dealer for a blown AC fuse, they said my freon levels are a little low, but nothing to worry about yet. They charged the AC system for me (don't know what that even means) and everything seemed fine.

Today, in the 95 degree heat, the AC was working but it didn't seem very strong... the air that was blasted out was chilled, but not cold, like I remember it being. Could this be due to the low levels of freon? Do you guys know how much it would cost to have it refilled at a dealership, or local shop? or if it's easy to DIY?

Thanks!

When they say "charged" it means they are filling it up with freon. It might be that you have a leak somewhere.

One cannot DIY as refrigerant recharge. There are very strict laws on how to do it properly. This is best done by a dealer or a shop like Jiffy Lube (yes, they do A/C).

If you are within 4 years/50k miles then it should be, if there is something wrong.

Yes take it back 2 them. As long as u r under the factory warranty it will b fixed as per no cost 2 u. Even if they can't seem 2 find the leak that day make sure u ask if they added a tracer dye 2 the system. There not just going 2 fill it up a second time and blow u out the door. If they add the dye they might ask u 2 bring it back in a few days to have the tech check it out. But the longer u wait the hotter the air is going 2 get. Good luck bro.
