Oil change questions

Hey all,

Almost time for my TSX's very first oil change! I have a couple of questions:

1. Do I hafta take it to the dealer, or can I take it to wherever I want? Will they be able to reset the warning light?

2. Is there any way to turn off that warning light? It's very annoying. I've got 4200 miles on it, so there's still 800 miles left before I want to change the oil. But it comes on every time I start the car.

Welcome. I see you're fairly new to the forum.

Answer to question #1 - No, you don't have to take it to the dealer. #2 - Resetting the maintenance light is an easy task. Read the owners manual on how to do it.

Through the years, most questions and concerns about the tsx have been covered, and to see if they have been, try using the search feature.

did you get this car new-then you should have an owner's manual. i have my tsx serviced by the dealer so they do it. It does not annoy me-nice thing to have.

The owner's manuals are online, check the forum FAQs. If you bought a used TSX and didn't get owner's manuals, I hope you got a good price!

turn the key to ON, Scroll through until you see the oil life meter on the MID, next press and hold the reset button on the steering wheel or on the dash until oil life reset screen appears, hit select, and voila, you have just reset the oil life meter and the warning.

Just so we can help anyone else looking at this thread, SEARCH (both here, google, or your owners manual).
