Knock Sensor wiring harness

Hey hows it going. I just picked up an 05 TSX 6spd with a couple of issues:

The car recently had the clutch replaced, I am assuming the mechanic that replaced the clutch yanked on the wiring for the knock sensor and broke the wire. He rigged it up using a wiretap and hardwired the knock sensor, but it's throwing a code for knock sensor circuit malfunction P0325. I want to repair the harness the right way, but have been unable to locate a part number for the knock sensor sub harness or even just the knock sensor connector with a pigtail. Acura dealer claims I need to buy the who k24 engine harness as they don't sell just the knock sensor harness or the knock sensor connector. Can anybody confirm this or give me part numbers for just the knock sensor connector or the knock sensor harness? I know they sell a "sub wire harness" for the knock sensor for other models but not for the tsx. I haven't had a chance to pull the intake mani to see if the knock sensor wire has a connector to connect it to the main engine harness or if it's hardwired? If it's hardwired and I can't get a complete harness I would need to find just the connector and pigtail for the knock sensor and will splice it in to the main harness if need be. I am not looking to replace the whole engine harness for a plastic connector.

Thank you.

Suggest going to a U-pull yard and pulling a single wire connection (male and female parts) w/ spare wire ends from a Honda. Splice to your knock sensor and wiring to make a connectable system.

good luck

Not a bad idea, I'll have to check around. I dug a little deeper into this today, and found out the hack actually left the connector on the harness and made his wire tap just before the connector. The connector appears to be in good shape, I don't know why he didn't use it though, which worries me. I am hoping he broke the plastic connection on the knock sensor and didn't want to buy a new knock sensor, so he soldered a wire to the pin on the sensor and tapped into the harness to hardwire it. I'll just cut off his wire tap and add a little wire to the connector, tie it into the harness and install a new knock sensor, so it can connect like it's meant too. Seems like an awful lot of headache when he could of just bought a new knock sensor. Hard to get a decent picture but you can see this hacked up mess I need to deal with.

He probably spliced knock sensor to wiring to use a sensor he alread had or was trying to avoid the connector on harness side which may be damaged.

See following link for knock sensor testing. I am unsure what type of knock sensor TSX uses; wide band or resonant. Shop manual does not say that I could find.

Part of testing for P0325 is to verify the wiring and connector is working. Summmary procedure is to disconnect PCM harness connector (A) that has knock sensor wire and verify the red/blu wire is open when disconnected at knock sensor harness connector and grounded when knock sensor harness connector is jumpered to ground.

good luck

Finished this all up last night. Connector was still good. Took off the intake mani so I had room to work, then removed the wire tap and reconnected (Soldered+ Shrink-tubed) the connector, replaced knock sensor, replaced intake mani with new gasket, and all is well. Why in the hell he went through all the trouble of splicing wires when he could of just bought a new knock sensor is beyond me!
