if i were a screw...

hi,

let's say one drops a screw into the hole underneath the middle armrest. where would the screw end up? any chance it'll just fall out underneath the car?

thanx in advance.

the hole that i'm talking about is under that centre storage bin w/ the 2nd DC plug, underneath the coin holder...

that is, the centre storage bin has to be unscrewed and lifted to show the hole. i took that all out while installing navi/entertainment unit and dropped a screwed in there haha.

If it doesn't rattle around, it probably just fell out.

Oh, cool! A possible self-induced rattle. Please come back in a few weeks and complain. Tinky Winky can be your advocate

Dude, you kill me!!!!

As for the screw, it would be caught up in either the wires around the stereo amp or would be behind the plastic of the center console... but more than likely just right underneath the "not an ashtray" box. Look at the install instructions for the short shifter... you see what it looks like under the "not an ashtray" area.

i don't get it. who's that?
no worries about rattles, my '05 has it all. squeeky driver side window, rattles in the steering column, rattles in the glove box, the popping noise in the trunk, and i'm pretty sure something in the roof is rattling now too. i don't think one more screw rattle would bother me too much, but my stupidity in dropping the screw in the hole bothers me a heck lot more.

possibly. but it's more that there's now imperfections in the car due to MY actions. the imperfections that came with the car i'll complain about but i can accept -- that's life. bad stuff caused by my stupidity = must be fixed.

yup, started looking at both spots, no signs of it yet. so i guess this means there's no hole under the lower floor panel for the screw to have dropped thru?
