Hi Nick. Yes there was a little play in the system, I could manually move the caliper around in the bracket. Pushing and pulling on the caliper would result in the rattle sound I was hearing when going over bumps. I'm sure mine was like this from the factory as I had never worked on the brakes at that time. One thing I do recall, was going over bumps where I could hear the rattling, if I lightly applied the bakes the rattling would stop. That's what drove me to look in the brake area.
