Has This Happened To You? Need Some Help!

Now that I have your attention, I need help identifying a shaking problem. I have an 06 6-speed MT with 53k on the odometer and when I accelerate I feel a vibration through 2nd - 4th gear in between 2000 and 3500rpms. It almost feels like its coming from the passenger side of the car and feels like you run over smooth railroad tracks.

My thought is that it was the clutch, however the clutch is not slipping and this new clutch only has about 15k on it. I started noticing it alot when turning but now if i accelerate (slightly to moderately I have this shake) If I accelerate WOT it's not noticeable.

My tires are balanced, I had an alignment done 4 months ago, tires were bought in feb.

My thoughts: axles, cv joints, or clutch... I'm thinking acura did something to my car to get it back in because it was still covered under warranty when I had it replaced and they threw a little fit over it because it was so close to 50k. They are also notorious for screwing around with your car (mine especially)

I am also getting a squeek when i turn the wheel counter clockwise (to the left) which is discussed in a thread.

Also would like some guidence on brakes, I'm tempted in buying the powerslots off of tirerack unless there's something else out there.

My '06 6MT exhibited a slight vibration upon acceleration, and when I took it in for service at about 30K miles I told them that I had read about others (in this forum) having the same issue and that the problem ended up being the drivers side axle shaft.

The first time I took it in they replaced the intermediate shaft (44500-SDA-A00 SHAFT ASSY., HALF), and the problem still existed.

The second time I took it in they replaced the drivers side axle shaft (44306-SEA-N50 DRIVESHAFT ASSY., L.), and that finally did the trick.

Sounds like the good ole axle issue. If you can't get them to replace them under warranty, talk to Excelerate. I bought mine from him and so have a few others here on the forum. Much better deal, stronger axle.

So it does sound like an axle problem? I've been driving it more and it always happens in the same rpm range, like 2500 - 3500, and it feels like it's coming from the passenger side of the car. I had my friend take a ride and he said that its not your clutch, it feels like something else but he didn't know what to think.

I have a 100,000 mile warranty(lasts until 120,000) with the dealership that i purchased my car from (isnt acura) and it looks like one of the items that would be on the list of "warranty" so I'll give them a call and see if they can diagnose it.

Thanks for your help, if someone has input on brakes please feel free to post

I have the exact same problem. Started showing up after they replaced the clutch master around 10k. They replaced both axles but still no fix...currently have 32k. The dealer finally gave up and said it must be a normal characteristic. I was then basically told they are not sure what it is and the tech line could not help them so Acura would not honor any guess warranty work. I called client services and they directed me to another dealer. Unfortunately, it was not doing it the day I took it there (30 miles away) and I have yet to bring it back.

This issue drives me crazy...please help me too! If I weren't buying a new house I would have already dumped this car.

The common speed that this is sensed at is somewhere between 54-65mph under acceleration... if you take it out of gear, depending upon the wear, it may or may not shake. It starts out as annoying and then goes to dangerous shakes. Mine was gradual over 5k miles as I recall. Haven't had an issue since and its been a long while.

Well, I feel it only in between 2000 - 3500rpms, medium acceleration. Noticing that the vibration is more noticeable when turning. It almost feels like it is coming from the passenger side of the car however feelings can be deceiving when attempting to diagnose. I'm going to get the car put on a lift next weekend and have my buddy who's a mechanic take a look at it and possibly give me some incite on this problem.

If he is good, he should be able to feel the loose CV, commonly inboard, but could be your outboard too since you feel it when turning as well.
