Unhappy Freakin' Wind... messed up door side

I hate windy days.

So I was going to a gas station earlier today to get gas and also to get a car wash, since it was kind of sunny today in Toronto and I wanted to get rid of some of the salt buildup that probably exists under the car.

So I park the car in front of one of the gas pumps, and as I open the door, a gust of wind yanks the door out of my hand and it ends up somewhat scrapping into one of the metal posts of the gas station!

So I'm totally pissed and I go to survey the damage, I have a couple of pictures on my phone which I will post up onto the site when I get home since I'm at school now, which will be in about 3 hours, but I just really had to post this to see what options I have. I will post a generic picture with the area that is damaged circled.

The damage isn't TOO bad, nothing in terms of the paint, but its the black plastic siding on the side of the door that has taken damage, the metal pole had gouged out some of the plastic at the edge of the door and the metal underneath is showing.

What options do I have to repair this and how much would I be expecting to pay to fix it?

Thanks everyone!

Booo, yeah it's been windy, in the Bay Area here in Cali, these past couple of days.

I luckily wasn't near a pole, but the same thing happened to me. My door swung wide open, good thing there wasn't any traffic, or it would have been much worse.

Look on the bright side, it wasn't the actual door that got hit.

Hard to say without seeing a closeup of what was damaged. The plastic pieces shouldn't cost too much (I hope) to replace.

LOL Guess I should change it then! I took it off a website, guess they were wrong!

Hey to GTSX-05

But here are the pictures, I'm not sure what I can do with the damage.

Any suggestions?

Whoa, I have the same mark at the exact same spot, but mine is a little less noticeable, it’s almost like a chip. Believe it or not I used NBP touch up brush from my MDX, to put some colour on it so it’s less noticeable.

First and foremost, I apologize for the quality of the following image; I left the good camera at school. Secondly my chip if you’d like to call it that isn’t really that bad so I can live with it, but yours looks worse. I would honestly get the piece replaced. I guess it all comes down to how anal you are on the imperfections.

If worse comes to worse, I think the last resort might be to replace it, but if possible, I want to see if any other members have any other ideas for patching it up.

Maybe you could lend me some of that NBP paint lol.

Hoenstly the flash makes it look really bad, in daylight its hardly even noticable. As for the NBP whats mine is yours, anytime.

btw; we should set up some sort of TSX meet, its already being discussed you should check in here:

Cool, chances are I'll drop by the stealership tomorrow to get it checked out I think, have this huge 4 hour break between classes, so I might as well.

Maybe if the repair does get too expensive, I'll have to take you up on that NBP paint

Still though, gotta get some more opinions here!
