discolorations on car

Here is the odd problem I have: I have a meteor silver TSX, which (as most of you know) is basically a light blue car. On the hood of the car, I have several pencil point thick dark blue dots, and I have similar discolorations on the passenger side front panel. I though they might be caused by some junk sprayed up from the road. However, I have recently clayed the car and applied Klasse All-in-one (which is a strong cleaner) and the blue dots are still there. So. my guess is that there is a problem with the paint intself. Anybody else have a problem like this?

Mine is a white one, and I notice that the rear bumber is a slightly yellower colour than the driver side rear quarter panel. I think I am nuts but I always check it anyway when it is clean. Anyone else see colour variances between panels etc.?

i think there was a similar thread a while back about a ssm tsx. i think there was even a pic, basically one of the doors was a different shade of silver. i think they ended up getting the door panel replaced or re-painted b/c the color was so off.

not sure if the post was here or on that other tsx site

Maybe you mean this?....

....although that wasn't really about a problem that was noticed yet on TSX.

The typeo pro problems be discussed in this thread is different than mine. I don't have problem with the color matching across the bumper or panels mismatched. I have a series of small dark blue dots on the hood, and on one side panel.

i'm guessing if you claybar'd the car recently the problem must be inside the paint, or something has penetrated the paint to cause it to go dark blue. the problem i was thinking of wasn't anything like what you're having.

can you take a pic of what it looks like?

Hey Darth,

I second the pic if possible- I'm curious to see what the dots look like. I have an MSM as well and haven't noticed anything odd about the paint, though I haven't really examined it that closely either...

I had the same problem with my white Integra, especially on the rear bumper. The problem is part oxidation and part dirt. You need to use a claybar to remove it. Regular carwash don't do it.

You can find claybar at Walmart. Both Meguiar and Mother's make it. They are good to use periodically because washing the car with soap doesn't always get the grit out. After using the claybar, your car will "literally" feel like glass....it will be that smooth.

I've got a couple of orangy dots on my SSM. I'm clueless to what the hell they are.

I must now try a claybar...like Fooman suggested.

I thought it was me, but I have noticed on my TSX (same light blue color) a couple of small sections on the driver door that are not as 'metallic' in appearance. The sunlight has to reflecting off the door just right to notice, or if you are looking for it, then it can be seen.
I haven't noticed a dark blue dots or speckles.
