Console Displays Went Dead!

I left home and two minutes later I looked down and my entire console display is dead. The radio and heat still work but I can't see any of the displays.
Clock is dead too. The next day while it was light out I could barely see the display if I got real close and really looked for it. It was really dim.

Supposed to bring it to the dealer on Tuesday.

No worries, just making sure you have all the facts before you hit the dealer.

Yea, actually that thread did help. At least I am expecting a long wait for the parts to come in and also know to take out my CD's or I may or may not get them back.

They should place an urgent order for this part (2nd day). If you forget your CDs in the player (which has happened a couple of times in my old department), it takes about 2 weeks to get them back. When the defective unit is removed, it gets sent back for inspection/verification of the defect. They then disassemble the unit, remove the CDs, and send them back.

You do not have to wait for your's to be inspected before replacement, obviously. They send the new unit, and your core goes back in the box that the replacement came in.

As I was pulling in to the dealer, I remembered to take the CD's out.

I'm still waiting to hear from the dealer as to what they found to be the problem and how long I'm going to wait.

Got a call from the dealer and said the car was ready.

They replaced the radio console. I told her others that had this problem had to wait 1-2 weeks for the parts and she said at one point the radio/console's were on backorder but they are available now so my car is ready to be picked up.

Yea, I didn't buy my TSX there but I go there for servicing and maintenance and they've been nop-notch at all times.

Although that station wagon loaner car wasn't exactly what I was hoping for.....

Thanks!

I bought my car at Ryan's Open Road Acura in East Brunswick. Haven't brought my car in for service yet. (Should be hitting 5K miles by next month).

Had mine fixed about 6 months ago and I haven't gotten my CDs back yet... and I don't think I will.

I got my 1st console replaced about 10,000 miles ago. I just realized this morning it's out again at 21,000 miles. I called the dealer and asked if they were willing to order the parts with my VIN number but the service advisor told me I needed to have the technician look at my car first. It irritated me even more because he was able to pull up the service order from the 1st incident. I don't know if this is standard procedure or they were not willing to take my word for it because I'm a girl . It's not like I don't go to the dealership every other month with various issues. Plus I know a lot more about cars than I seem to!!!

I've seen several posters here say the same thing. The dealer will not order a new console until they look at it. So, you're not being singled out because you're a girl.

BTW, If you want more attention to your threads/posts you need to start them with " I'm a girl, ......" You won't believe the number of posts you get back (especially asking for your pics). But, I digress. That sucks having to go throught the console replacement twice. I wonder if anyone knows what is the actual cause of this failure and if Acura is addressing it in the 05 models. Good luck with it.
