of course they don't send that thing back.
The frigging manufacturer (Stanley) is in Japan. That's just BS they give.
I got a pair from eBay in excellent shape for $100. Those "defect" are totally worthless. (To dealer & Honda)
i just noticed that my passenger side headlight got foggy after driving in a heavy rain few weeks ago in so cal...
i know it sux but i think i wont bring the car back to the dealer and get it replaced...
cuz i already have my JDM lights sitting in my garage over a month... time to put them on =)

I just called the dealership and told them about my headlight condensation and he set me up with a rental car for next tuesday to have it fixed under warranty!
I will highly recommend Davis Acura to anyone in the area, these people have been great to work with so far in dealing with issues i have with my car. They are just expensive if you need to get other things taken car of there!!!

Another one with Honda Accord (European TSX model) - even though it's out of warranty, I think I'll be speaking with Honda about this. Good to see Acura or their dealers setting a precedence with swapping them out.
There's no way headlights in this day and age should fog up with condensation.

Mine condenses like windows do - temp differential.
They also look filthy on the inside - dusty. Could do with a damn good clean, but that's the first headlights I recall seeing like so. Next time it happens, I'll take a photo and post it up so you can see.
It's not pretty, I warn you in advance.

so far mine aint bad, only seen it happen once and was a tiny patch on one headlight. i'm hoping that i wont see it again. tomorrow i am going to go to the touchless carwash again to see what happens. thats a good test for leaks...
my driver side headlight has condensation. the headlight itself stopped working now. i didn't see others mentioning about headlight not working. Is it common?
To answer some other query on the thread, it is raining continuously here in seattle. and the problem seems to be because of that.
Thanks

For me, condensation has gotten into both sides of my headlights. In one of the the bulb actually shorted because of the condensation. But Thomas Acura replaced it with no problems. Just take it into a dealer. It'll take about like 3-4 hours to fix.
I had condensation in my drivers side headlight and didn't think much about it at first, but then the condensation was shorting out the HID causing it to malfunction from time to time so I took it into the dealership. They replaced the entire headlight and it worked fine when I left the dealership, but then the light shorted out again that evening. I took it back in a couple of days later and they ended up replacing the HID assembly and I haven't had a problem in the 8 months since then.
man it seems like when the temperature goes from warm to cold outside is when i get some fogging in mine. worst part about it is these are with my $600 JDM headlights.
i seem to have the worst like in the world when it comes to modding my car. nothing every goes easily. it wasn't even raining today so there must be moisture inside the headlights. i opened up the section for the high beams and aimed a hair dryer in their for a couple minutes to dry out the fogging and closed it up again. hopefully that will be the end of it. all the seals "look" fine.
headlight mods definately go on my list of better off left alone...my original headlights never fogged up once in 3 years of ownership.

Mine got really bad. From the time I called the dealer to make an appointment until the time I brought it in, the HID went out (probably because it got wet). The ended up replacing the whole assembly, the bulb, the igniter etc... But it all turned out well.

yeah so this problem keeps coming back whenever the temp outside changes from warm to cold at night. what a pain in the ass. i've checked all the seals where the wires go and everything looks fine. i can't imagine that both brand new jdm headlights are faulty. its almost like there should be some sort of vent because once i break the seals where the wires go the condensation quickly disappears. when they are sealed up though it seems like the moisture has nowhere to go...
i'm at a loss and this is starting to piss me off.
paying 600.00 for another pair of headlights seems insane when i might end up with the same problem again.

I just noticed condensation in my passenger side light uggg. Is it a coincidence that my left side fog light also blew out? I picked up a paid of yellow bulbs from ebay about 6 months ago. Anyways can I bring my car to any dealership to have this fixed? I got my car in Scarsdale, NY cause of the price but the dealership in Manhattan is closest to me.
Yes you can bring it to any dealership to have the headlights replaced (if you are under warranty). They have a TSB out for this. Your foglight blowing has nothing to do with the headlights. They probably blew because 1)cheap bulbs 2)bad install (never touch the bulb with your oily hands else the excessive heat will blow it 3)god doesn't love your foglights.
Took my car to Acura of Manhattan this morning. I told them about the condensation in my headlights. Even though it was longer there. I left the dealership and an hour and half later my oil change was done and they replaced the entire headlight for me. The only problem is when I switch on my right turn signal it blinks at twice the speed. I called them up and they say they know what the problem is and to bring it back in. Free parking in midtown! WOO HOO.
Just had mine confirmed. That and an AC compressor - and the AC rad has been done as well.
All well after warranty too. So, major kudos to Honda UK for me.
Hope Acura does likewise for anyone found to be in a similar situation.

O, and I'm not going back to that dealership.

Got the recall notice today for my '04. Was told the new clip installation is a quick job, but that if there was condensation they'd have to order the headlight etc for a much longer job. Forgot to tell the nice phone lady I've seen traces of condensation inside the driver's side lense from time to time but lights are functioning fine. suppose I'll have to fill in the details when I show up in two weeks. (Hard to believe the service depts wouldn't have new lights in stock in view of the recall.)
Well I just received a letter from Acura today in the mail telling
me to bring in my car to the dealer that all 2004-2005 models have that
problem with the headlights and that they will be replacing them free of charge

if only I had waited just a couple months....o well, my JDM one's look nice

First the radio and now this. What is with Acura stepping up its customer service.
