You do know that the 12V sockets only work when the car is running, right?

I had the car on, but even when the car is not on, the light on my car charger used to light up even if the car was off. It wouldnt light up at all. I tried it in my roomies car and it worked. So....

I will check the fuse

Why are you referring to them as cigarette lighters?

There 12V power outlets.

This should be in the Problems & Fixes section.

The "lighters" should work when the car is running or when the key is in the Accessory position. I'd check the fuse first.

Has anyone tried to rewire or figured out how to keep the power outlets "on" when the engine is off and the key is not in accessory mode?

I like to charge my phone while I'm running around doing errands, but the off/on thing really drains the battery. Same goes for my iPod. My last car and majority of friends' cars had the power outlets/cigarette lighter jack "on", no matter what.

Yes, it could be and the connected device could potentially drain the battery. If one is so incline to do this, it can be easily done by rerouting the 12v input source directly to the fuse box where the constant power tab is (not fused). But I would recommend installing an inline fuse for safety just in case the connected deviced is shorted.

Mine are also not working. I pulled the driver seatback fuse a while back because I got tired of the dealership moving my seat when I went in for service. From reading the manual I don't think the 12V power sockets use the same fuse, but could I be wrong. Can someone tell me which fuse the sockets run off of.
