Navigation sometimes off by a street or two

I have one of the first 2000 TSXes for the US.

Recently I've been noticing that my navi tells me that I'm not on an street or shows me that I'm on the wrong street. This is really getting to me because sometimes.. I'd follow the directions.. and it'd tell me to u-turn or .. changes it's mind because it finds that I'm on a different street.. etc. etc.

It happens almost everytime I go for a far distance drive.

Anyone else having these problems? Can Acura fix this?

one thing that also happen to lots of my friend using GPS.. not sure if this apply to u, if it doesnt , I apologize... civilian version of GPS are off by maybe 50+ feet more... and are not as real time as military version.. they are right on the money and faster tracking cause they dont want civilian version to be capable of utilized by those.. you know who.... sometimes if 2 streets are very very nearby.. GPS will not be able to determine or determine fast enough which one you are on.. cause due to the allowed error margin.. GPS knows there are 2 street there, but they are way too close enough to make the civilian version GPS view it as 1 big street.. thus lead us end user to wrong street sometimes.......

It happened to me, but mine wasnt off by a street or two, it was off by a 1/2 mile or more. It continued for a week, i think it had something to do with my subs, so i turned it down for a bit and then a week or two later it straightened out.

SOmetimes that problem happens to me as well. After i spoke with acura service advisor and also my 2 friends working in Lexus and MB as sales. The GPS does that when it is not synchronized, it usually goes away in a few mins. For the TSX, you can take a look at the color of the gps lettering on your screen. When it is white, it is synchronizing and green when it is idle, err or the other way around.

It is out of synch when there is no saterlite reception or connection, you can check with holding Map+Menu+cancel for 5 sec and will go to the diagnostic screen. go to GPS and you can see how many saterlite you are connected with or searching for. It happens to other cars as well, not just TSX, so i am not worried.

I agree .. check how many signal you got from GPS. You need at least 3 to pin point your location and 4th to give you altitude information. Also check your clock in the car. The clock should be pretty accruate since it sync up with the atomic clock on the GPS transmitter.
