Center console button backlights out, but...

...I have aftermarket stereo equipment installed (spliced the pre-outs for RCA connections, switched power, etc). I've also ordered a SNHOND3 that I'd like to install soon. Has anyone gotten this issue fixed (there's a TSB which calls for a complete console replacement) in a car with aftermarket equipment? Did your dealer try to claim that your install caused the light outtage? Even if they'll replace the center console, it'll be a pain in the ass to resolder everything.

Just to clarify, only my buttons are out. I can still see the CD/radio display, HVAC display, and clock.

the only stock piece left from my original audio equipment is my headunit. i had teh lights go out as well and amazingly the dealer did not give me any problems about fixing it under warranty.

thanks jigga. come to think of it, i haven't checked how the wire bundle(s) are connected to the head unit. are they hard wired or connectorized? i guess this is just a roundabout way of asking if they'll leave my wires in my car or if i'll have to rework my system.

Where did you do your splicing, right before the OEM amp?

Is there anyway that you can cover the wiring up a little bit. The dealer shouldn't say anything since this is a known issue, but you just never know. I think it depends on the dealer.
